Employer Seniority definition

Employer Seniority means the accumulated uninterrupted service the employee has with the Employer.
Employer Seniority for any employee who transfers into the unit after the effective date of this Agreement shall be defined as the employee’s length of continuous service as measured from the employee’s most recent date of hire by the Employer, provided that such date of hire shall not pre-date any break in service occurring before the transfer.

Examples of Employer Seniority in a sentence

  • If no volunteers are available, then the supervisor will designate Employees capable and qualified to perform the work based on reverse Employer Seniority, so long as the Employee has the necessary skill set to perform the Stand-By duties.

  • Employees will be solicited on a rotational voluntary basis and selected by Employer Seniority so long as an Employee has the necessary skill set to perform the particular Stand-By duties.

  • The order of separation for term Employees affected by an expiration of appointment, due to reduction or loss of funding or when the special project or program ends for the affected term Employees, shall be by Employer Seniority.

  • If funding for the program or the project is resumed within six (6) months, separated term Employees shall be offered reemployment in Employer Seniority order in the same position they held prior to separation.


More Definitions of Employer Seniority

Employer Seniority means the length of continuous service in a career or term position (including probationary period) with an Employee’s current Employer. 1. If the Employee quits, resigns, or retires; 2. If the Employee is dismissed and the dismissal is not reversed through applicable appeal procedures; 3. If the Employee fails to return from authorized leave; 4. If the Employee fails to respond to a recall from layoff; or 5. If the Employee is on layoff status for more than six (6) months.

Classification Seniority will be used for purposes of layoff, recall, vacation scheduling, shift preference, overtime, and job bidding, except to the extent specifically provided otherwise in the following Articles: Job Posting (Article 15), Lay Off and Recall (Article 16), Hours of Work and Overtime (Article 20), and Vacation (Article 25).
Employer Seniority for any employee who transfers into the unit after the effective date of this Agreement shall be defined as the employee’s length of continuous service as measured from the employee’s most recent date of hire by the Employer, provided that such date of hire shall not pre-date any break in service occurring before the transfer. “Classification Seniority” shall be defined as the employee’s length of continuous service within his/her classification as measured from the date the employee first entered the classification at this unit. Employer Seniority will be used for determining vacation eligibility. Classification Seniority will be used for purposes of layoff, recall, vacation scheduling, shift preference, overtime, and job bidding, except to the extent specifically provided otherwise in the following Articles: Job Posting (Article 16), Lay Off and Recall (Article 17), Hours of Work and Overtime (Article 23), and Vacation (Article 28). In the event two (2) or more employees are hired on the same day their seniority shall be decided by a mutually agreed lottery of those employees.
Employer Seniority means the length of unbroken employment with the Employer, whether or not within the Bargaining Unit, commencing the date of last hire by the Employer;
