Flexible Hours definition

Flexible Hours means the times during the workday, workweek, or pay period within the tour of duty during which an employee covered by a flexible work schedule, with supervisory approval, may choose to vary the employee’s times of arrival and departure from the work site consistent with work-related needs.
Flexible Hours shall be defined as an adjustment to the starting and ending time of an employee’s work day, to accommodate a forty (40) hour work week, as fully described in Section 1. All employees in the bargaining unit shall be allowed to utilize flexible hours upon the approval of the supervisor.
Flexible Hours pertains to the following classification, which is subject to night shift 26 assignments at the discretion of the District: School Security Officer.

Examples of Flexible Hours in a sentence

  • Based on Party B’s duties, Party B’s working hours shall be calculated under the Integrated Working Hour Computation System (rather than the Standard Hours System and Flexible Hours System).

  • Flexible Hours: On a job-by-job basis, with prior approval of the Senior Electrical Supervisor, a crew may schedule a workday, or workdays, other than the normal workday schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • If any lieu time is accrued under a Flexible Hours of Work arrangement, such time will be taken at times mutually agreed to by the employee and the Department Head/designate within the calendar year in which the lieu time accrued.

  • Flexible Hours Option –Staff may have a choice of arrival hours in the flexible option plan.

  • The Hospital will provide the Union with ninety (90) days written notice of discontinuation of Flexible Hours.

  • It is understood and agreed that management has the right to cancel Flexible Hours if in its opinion it is not seen to be efficient or effective.

  • The Flexible Hours Guidelines for office employees shall apply for the duration of this Agreement and are attached for informational purposes.

  • This clause will not preclude the involvement of part-time officers in the provisions of Clause 15 Flexible Hours.

Flexible Hours is a scheduling arrangement, made at the request of the employee that permits variations in the employee’s regularly scheduled starting and ending times between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., but does not change the total number of hours worked in a day. The University and the Union recognize that departments have an obligation to provide the highest level of service possible to the broader University community. Furthermore, it is recognized that the University has certain operational requirements that must be met, including having sufficient number of staff available during the hours that an employee’s department is open. Any request for flexible hours must consider obligations and requirements and may be denied by the University if service or operational requirements are adversely affected. The minimum meal period of thirty minutes and/or fifteen minute rest periods (forenoon and afternoon) may not be used towards any flexible hours arrangement. A request for flexible hours will be submitted to the employee’s supervisor who will forward such request to Human Resources prior to commencement. Flexible work arrangements may be revoked with two weeks’ notice if service or operational requirements change or if job performance is negatively affected. Employees may only modify the schedule with the department’s prior consent. The supervisor will notify Human Resources of any such modifications. Related to Flexible Hours

  • Base Hours means the hours of work for which a staff member receives compensation. Base hours shall include overtime hours for which a staff member is paid additional or overtime compensation, and hours for which a staff member receives workers’ compensation benefits. Base hours shall also include hours a staff member would have worked except for having been in military service. Base hours do not include hours for when a staff member receives other types of compensation, such as administrative, personal leave, vacation, or sick leave.

  • Support Hours means between 8:30am and 5pm during Monday to Friday excluding standard UK Bank Holidays.

  • Core Hours means the period beginning at 8am and ending at 6.30pm on any day from Monday to Friday except Good Friday, Christmas Day or bank holidays;

  • Hours means sequential sixty (60) minute time frames.

  • Service Hours means the hours limited in the applicable Notification Form during which the Services are provided, it being understood that different Service Hours can apply for different Services.
