Starting and Ending Times. Each employee shall be assigned regular starting and ending times, which shall not be changed without reasonable prior notice; however, Fairgrounds and Convention Center employees are assigned a variable work schedule based upon facilities usage.

The “regular” scheduled day for all teachers is from 7:30 a.m. until 3:10 p.m., and the maximum number of work hours shall be seven (7) hours and forty (40) minutes. The “early” scheduled day for all teachers is from 7:00 a.m. until 3:10 p.m., and the maximum number of work hours shall be eight (8) hours and ten (10) minutes. The “early” scheduled days shall be determined by the building principal prior to the start of the school year, and are to be used for teacher collaboration. Teachers are encouraged to remain in the building for a sufficient period after the close of the students’ school day to attend to those matters which require proper attention, such as meeting with parents when scheduled in advance with teacher knowledge. On Fridays and days preceding holidays or vacations, teachers will be permitted to leave when the last bus leaves except on days of scheduled professional development. On the last day of school for the school year, teachers will be permitted to leave when the last bus leaves providing the teacher has completed checkout with his/her building administrator.

It is the SEEO member’s responsibility to notify their administrator regarding any hardship or conflict current starting and ending times may create. Accommodations may be made to the starting and ending times with principal approval. Notification of starting and ending times will be provided to each employee by the building administrator by the second week of the school year.
2. Secretaries and Library Resource Paraprofessionals will be allowed early thirty- (30) minute dismissal on conference days and student non-attendance days, provided that dismissal is not earlier than pupil dismissal or interferes with staff development or in-services. The parties agree that student non-attendance days do not include scheduled work days during the students’ summer vacation (i.e., scheduled work days before and after the school year).
Starting and Ending Times. Amendments to the starting and ending times of the student day shall be communicated to staff prior to the start of the school year. If, as a result of unforeseen circumstances, the schedule must be changed during the course of the school year, the affected Employees will be notified by the appropriate administrator at the earliest opportunity.
Starting and Ending Times. Because teaching is a profession, it is difficult to restrict teachers' services to rigid starting and stopping hours. Teachers shall be in their buildings fifteen (15) minutes before and after classes. In addition, teachers shall be at their assigned spot ten (10) minutes before classes begin. In order to facilitate the making of conference appointments, all teachers shall post a schedule of classes and conference times. The District shall not extend the teachers' day beyond these times except to fulfill curriculum program requirements set by the Board of Education. Infrequent, irregular extensions required of the teacher by the district of less than one (1) hour shall not be compensated, and shall be kept to a minimum. Extensions of the day required of the teacher by the district beyond one (1) hour shall be compensated at the hourly extracurricular rate set in Schedule B-2.

Employees shall be allowed sufficient time to put away tools and equipment and check out during the regular shift period, so that they can leave the Individual Employer’s shop, yard or place of work not later than quitting time.

2. Maintenance employees will work a four-day work week during the summer. The work day will be a 9.75 hour day including a 30 minute lunch. Summer work hours will begin and end at the discretion of the Superintendent. All vacation, sick, and personal days taken during the four day summer work week will be charged at 1.00 per day.
