Indefinite Leave definition

Indefinite Leave. A unit member shall not be entitled to accrue sick leave or vacation benefits during this leave.
Indefinite Leave means a term describing the unknown time frame of a prognosis related to prolonged illness.
Indefinite Leave is: a) a general leave of absence without pay for an unspecified period of time; or b) an extension of Long Term Disability Leave (Article 17.2.10) beyond three (3) years.

Examples of Indefinite Leave in a sentence

  • If you hold limited leave to remain which is due to expire during your course, you will be required to demonstrate to us that you have obtained further leave to remain or, where relevant, Indefinite Leave to Remain.

  • The Operators on leave (other than Indefinite Leave) shall be given notice at their most recent address in the files of the Authority.

  • In the event an Operator is to bid at a Division Shake-Up and it is known that he/she will not return to work before the effective date of the Shake-Up, he/she shall be transferred to Indefinite Leave and not permitted to bid.

  • An employee who is elected or appointed to a full-time position in any of the bodies to which the Union is affiliated or accepts a paid staff position with the Union may be granted definite or indefinite leave without pay in accordance with Articles 18.1.1 (Definite Leave) or 18.2.1.6 (Indefinite Leave) whichever is applicable.

  • Employees shall be granted Indefinite Leave without pay from their positions upon request for reasons of prolonged illness, injury, or disability.

  • Employees receiving Long Term Disability benefits shall be granted LTD Leave for up to three (3) calendar years, after which time they are eligible for Indefinite Leave as outlined in Article 18.1.3.
