Office Seniority definition

Office Seniority means the length of service by the employee in all bargaining unit classifications occupied within the Sheriff’s Office cumulatively.
Office Seniority. An employee’s status based on continuous employment within the Sheriff’s Office.
Office Seniority for bargaining unit members as of February 13, 2015, was established by agreement of the parties and is intended to be fixed as of that date. Accrual of office seniority after that date whether for current bargaining unit members, new hires or rehires shall be subject to the following rules: office seniority will include the length of time in a regular position within the Association’s bargaining unit and does not include time in a temporary position, in a regular supervisory position or another bargaining unit. Seniority of employees hired on the same day shall be determined by lot, provided that employees with prior certification within that discipline will have greater seniority than employees without certification hired on the same date. The parties shall jointly prepare an office seniority list by July 1 each year to be used for annual shift/vacation bidding. For layoff, see Article 28 of this agreement.

Examples of Office Seniority in a sentence

  • Seniority shall be attained retroactively after completion of the probationary period and shall thereafter be established as the employee’s length of continuous service in the employee’s job classification (Classification Seniority) and in the Sheriff’s Office (Office Seniority).

  • Employees in a layoff or reduction in class situation shall only be entitled to bump back to lower job classifications in which they have previously accrued seniority, in which they can perform the duties of the classification, and if they have greater Office Seniority than the employee to be bumped.

  • Appendix B attached to this agreement is a listing of all current employees within the bargaining unit, their current classifications, their Classification Seniority order, and their Office Seniority.
