The Good Samaritan DrugOverdose Act provides that a health care professional otherwise authorized to prescribe an Opioid Antagonist may, directly or by standing order, prescribe and dispense an Opioid Antagonist to a Person at risk of experiencing an Opioid-related Drug Overdose or to a family member, friend or other Person in a position to assist a Person at risk of experiencing an Opioid-related Drug Overdose.
New Section Possession and Administration of Opioid Antagonists Person in a position to assist means a family member, friend, caregiver, health care provider, employee of a substance abuse treatment center or other who may be in a place to render aid to an individual at risk of an opioid related overdose.
