Absence Caused by Abnormal Situations. Pay will be granted in cases where absence is occasioned by inability to reach the place of employment caused by flood, storm or other Act of God when, in the judgment of the appropriate Senior Leadership Team member, every reasonable effort shall have been made to anticipate such emergency and to make the necessary arrangements to be available for work.

Absence Caused by Abnormal Situations. ‌ If an employee is absent because he or she cannot report to work because of flood, storm, or other Acts of Nature, they will be paid, if in the judgment of their supervisor they have made every reasonable effort to anticipate such an emergency, and to make the necessary arrangements to be available for work. Such approved absence will not be charged against leave time. If there is a disagreement with the supervisor's decision concerning the decision, the Human Resources Department shall be consulted before a final decision is made. Any such leave decisions under this section that involved the Human Resources Department, will not be subject to the grievance procedure contained in this Agreement. If the campus is closed due to inclement weather, or other emergency conditions, the President shall determine when, and if, the classified personnel shall report to work, and notify all members by public media and on the College’s Website. Those not reporting for work at the specified time shall be docked equivalent pay.

  • Industrial Accident or Illness Leave 7.6.1 All unit members shall receive sixty (60) days’ leave with pay in any one fiscal year for an industrial accident or illness. An industrial accident or illness is defined as one where the unit member becomes ill or is injured while he/she is serving the District, and, the accident or illness is reported to the District’s Self-Insurance Program in accordance with District regulations, and, the District Self-Insurance Program accepts responsibility for the treatment of the unit member.

Employees who take sick leave, vacation leave or compensatory time during a period in which they receive time-loss compensation will receive full sick leave, vacation leave or compensatory time pay in addition to any time-loss payments. Notwithstanding Section 18.1, of Article 18, Leave Without Pay, the Employer may separate an employee in accordance with Article 31, Reasonable Accommodation and Disability Separation.

  • Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL) - An employee is eligible for continuation of MPS in accordance with applicable law.

  • Extended Illness Leave 1. Extended Illness Leave, hereinafter referred to as “EIL” shall be established for Administrative Support Group, XXXX, Clerical, and Educational Assistant personnel who are absent due to their own personal illness or injury following the exhaustion of their accumulated illness, vacation and annual allotment of short term leave. Eligibility for Extended Illness Leave includes completion of employee’s probationary period.

  • Industrial Accident Leave 5.8.1 Unit Members will be entitled to industrial accident leave according to the provision in Education Code Section 87787 for personal injury which has qualified for Worker's Compensation under the provisions of the State Compensation Insurance Fund.
