Academic Standing. Resident Assistant must be full time students and must maintain a minimum 2.50 semester and cumulative grade point average. A RA will be placed on probation if the semester or cumulative GPA falls below 2.50 at any time. A RA should not be on academic probation with Campus Life for more than two consecutive semesters.

Academic Standing. 5.1. To be eligible to participate in a sport, the student athlete must maintain a 2.0 GPA on each progress report during the semester in which they are participating and meet OSAA’s academic eligibility which require that the student athlete: 5.1.1. Has passed a minimum of five (5) classes the semester immediately prior to participation. 5.1.2. Is making satisfactory progress toward graduation. 5.1.3. Is enrolled in and passing minimum of five (5) classes during the semester in which they are participating. 5.2. Any athlete not maintaining the standards outlined in Section 5 of this policy, may be assigned by the coach or school administrator to a supervised study program and required to submit a weekly grade check demonstrating improvement. 5.2.1. Any athlete submitting a weekly grade check indicating worsening grades may be deemed ineligible to participate by a school administrator until the student athlete can demonstrate a minimum 2.0 GPA and a passing grade for all classes. 5.2.2. Unexcused absences from the supervised study program may result in a school administrator suspending the student athlete from participation in contests and/or remove the student athlete from athletic program(s). 5.2.3. Student athletes who fail to abide and comply with the criteria outlined in Sections 5.2 of this policy may be deemed ineligible to participate in athletic program(s) by the school administrator.

Academic Standing. 21.1 Students in undergraduate Pathway Programs must maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale to continue in their Program. If in a given semester a student’s cumulative GPA falls below 2.0, the student will be ineligible to register for further Program classes unless granted academic probationary status by the University, which the University may grant in its sole discretion. 21.2 A student may be granted first-time academic probationary status following the first semester their cumulative GPA falls below 2.0. If the student granted first-time academic probation does not raise their cumulative GPA to 2.0 or above by the end of their first-time probationary semester the University may, in its sole discretion, grant the student continued academic probationary status. Continued academic probationary status may be granted by the University in its sole discretion to a student who has had multiple probationary semesters, or more than fifteen (15) deficit points, or is reinstated after academic dismissal. 21.3 Deficit points are calculated by subtracting the GPA hours attempted multiplied by 2 from earned Quality Points. Quality Points – 2(GPA Hours) = Deficit Points.

Academic Standing. Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 each semester and maintain a 67 percent completion rate, based on the Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards (SAP). Failure to maintain completion percentage requirement(s) portions of SAP standards, will place the Academic Excellence recipient on WARNING for the following semester. Failure to meet the Financial Aid SAP requirements for the second semester following the warning status will result in TERMINATION of the Academic Excellence Scholarship. All recipients must maintain all Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards. Failure to meet academic requirements will place the student in automatic TERMINATION.

Academic Standing. Students are expected to maintain a level of scholastic achievement that allows them to meet the grade requirements for continued enrollment in UTRGV and for college/high school graduation. Any Program student who fails to earn a grade of A, B, or C in any UTRGV course will be placed on academic suspension from the Program. Additionally, if a student withdraws from UTRGV or drops a course more than once during their participation in the Program, they will be placed on academic suspension from the Program. As UTRGV students, P-TECH Program students are subject to institutional standards regarding academic probation or suspension as outlined by the Office of the Registrar. Program staff are not eligible to override a decision on academic standing as determined by the Office of the Registrar.
