Unexcused Absences definition

Unexcused Absences means an absence where the student misses his/her scheduled instructional school day in its entirety with and no indication has been received by school personnel within three five days of the absence indicating that the student's parent is aware and supports the absence, or the parent provides a reason for the absence that is unacceptable to the school administration. The school administration may change an unexcused absence to an excused absence when it has been determined that the parent has provided an acceptable reason meeting criteria for the student's absence or there are extenuating circumstances.
Unexcused Absences. Each unexcused absence shall count as two (2) points. Each consecutive day of unexcused absence shall count as a separate occurrence of unexcused absence.
Unexcused Absences. Any absence that does not fall into one of the above excused absence categories is to be considered unexcused. Any student who has been absent from school will be marked with an unexcused absence until the required documentation is received and approved. NOTE: Students who have 10 consecutive unexcused absences (including absences due to travel) will be required to meet with administration for further action, if needed. Excessive Absences/Tardies: If students are deemed to be exhibiting patterns of excessive absences (10 or more absences and/or tardies), lines of parent/guardian communication will be initiated and may result in the risk of loss of class credit, student enrollment and participation privileges in school activities, extracurriculars, and/or events.

Examples of Unexcused Absences in a sentence

  • Unexcused Absences: Those absences for which no valid or truthful reason is given or failure to follow proper procedures when requesting the absence.

More Definitions of Unexcused Absences

Unexcused Absences. Any leave without pay not authorized in accordance with these provisions may be considered as unexcused absences and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Other policies may prevail in response to unexcused absences. PERFORMANCE EVALUATION AND PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Employees BENEFIT ELIGIBILITY: Employees on FMLA leave shall be eligible for participation in new or amended employee benefits at the time they are implemented. New dependents must be declared within 30 days of the event to be eligible for health benefits without proof of insurability. Current benefits are continued under applicable policies such as accruals, longevity, and gainsharing. INSURANCE PREMIUMS: Employees may continue insurance benefits through payroll deductions or timely submission of premium payments at employee rates (not to exceed 12 weeks) to Human Resources. If an employee is approved for a non-FMLA leave extension beyond the 12 weeks, the City Manager may waive the customary nonsubsidized rate and charge the employee rate. NON-FMLA LEAVE: Regular full time employees may be granted up to 12 weeks of “unpaid” absence after 30 calendar days of employment. Leaves for 15 or less combined work days (within a 12-month period) require Department Director approval. Leaves for 16 combined work days or greater (within a 12-month period) require Department Director and Human Resources Director approval. Director level requests must be approved by the City Manager. Leaves shall be based on sufficient personal needs not connected with business ventures or outside employment and are discretionary. The Director of Human Resources may place an employee on a non-FMLA leave for medical reasons if he/she is not capable of performing all the essential functions of his/her job even with reasonable accommodations. Performance evaluations/eligible awards and probationary periods will be extended by the number of work days missed. Benefits eligibility is treated the same as FMLA leaves. Insurance benefits shall be paid at the subsidized rate while in paid status through payroll deduction and at the unsubsidized rate while in unpaid status by submitting timely payments to Human Resources. Privileges of FMLA leaves do not apply including guaranteed job restoration. Leaves may also be rescinded if business needs change.
Unexcused Absences. A student is ill without a doctor's note, attending a non-UIL school function or outside school activity without a parent note and skipping class. • Students must attend the alternative training site on inclement days.
Unexcused Absences. Any absence without the required 24-hour notice is considered unexcused, cannot be made up, and will result in forfeiture of the funds paid for that Lesson. An unexcused absence must be paid for by Client as if the Lesson had been held.
