ACC and Sick Leave Work-related Accidents. Where an employee is incapacitated as a result of a work accident, and that employee is on earnings related compensation, then the employer agrees to supplement the employee’s compensation by 20% of base salary during the period of incapacitation. This payment shall be taken as a charge against Xxxx Leave up to the extent of the employee’s paid sick leave entitlement. The employer may agree to reimburse employees for treatment and other expenses or for financial disadvantage incurred as a result of a work-related accident. This agreement will be on a case-by-case basis. Work related assaults Where an employee is incapacitated as a result of a workplace assault, and that employee is on earnings related compensation, then the employer will top up the ACC payments to 100% of normal/ordinary rate of pay during the period of incapacitation. This shall not be debited against the employee’s sick leave. The employer will reimburse the employee for any costs incurred that are part charges for ACC agreed treatment and other associated ACC expenses. Non-Work-related Accidents Where the employee requests, the employer shall supplement the employee’s compensation by 20% of base salary and this shall be debited against the employee’s sick leave up to the extent of the employee’s paid sick leave entitlement. 9A FAMILY VIOLENCE LEAVE‌ The employer is committed to supporting staff that experience family violence, and staff seeking to address their issues with violence as and when occurrence of the violence is raised with the employer. Employees affected by family violence have rights under the Employment Relations Xxx 0000, Xxxxxxxx Xxx 0000 (relating to Family Violence Leave (ss72A-72)) and the Human Rights Xxx 0000. In addition, any staff member experiencing family violence should talk to their manager or Human Resources Department regarding the support available under the DHBs Family Violence (or equivalent) policy.‌‌

  • Pregnancy Sick Leave Leave for illness of a Nurse arising out of or associated with a Nurse’s pregnancy prior to the commencement of, or the ending of, pregnancy leave granted in accordance with Article 13.00, may be granted sick leave in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement.

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Sick Leave Donation Program A Labor Management Committee will be established for the purpose of proposing rules and procedures for a new, program. The LMC will be to develop consistent, transparent and equitable proposals for processes across all departments within the City. The LMC shall also explore proposals to lower the minimum leave bank required to donate sick leave and permit donation of sick leave upon separation from the City. The LMC must consult with the Office of Civil Rights to ensure compliance with the City’s Race and Social Justice Initiative. Once the LMC has developed its list of proposals, the City and Coalition of City Unions agrees to reopen each contract on this subject.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Sick Leave Donation In accord with state law and Medical Center policy, RN’s may donate sick leave to any employee entitled to receive such donations.

  • Sick Leave Use Sick leave will be charged in one-tenth (1/10th) of an hour increments and may be used for the following reasons:

  • SICK LEAVE PROGRAM An employee may be eligible to receive donations of paid leave to be included in the employee's sick leave balance if s/he has suffered a catastrophic illness or injury which prevents the employee from being able to work or from being able to work his/her regularly scheduled number of hours. Catastrophic illness or injury is defined as a critical medical condition considered to be terminal, or a long-term major physical impairment or disability.
