Adoption of School Calendar. 40.1 The GAEA and the administration will work together to create a calendar(s) to submit to the Board for its initial review at the January Board meeting. First semester teachers’ records day will be a floating day because of weather conditions. Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Xxx and/or Presidents’ Day will be used as make-up hours for calamity hours if all state-allowed calamity days have already been used and make-up hours are required before either Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Day or Presidents’ Day.

Adoption of School Calendar. A procedure for the development of the school calendar has been adopted by the School Board. The “Advisory Committee” may include all interested parties but shall include at least 1 teacher representative from each of the buildings in the School District.
Adoption of School Calendar. The schedule and number of duty days for teachers shall be established by the school calendar as adopted by the Board of Education, not to exceed, however, a total of 184.5 contract days (189.5 contract days for new teachers). A committee shall be established at the beginning of each school year for the purpose of making recommendations to the Board of Education concerning the school calendar for the subsequent school year. The Deputy Superintendent shall serve as chairman of the committee and will be a non- voting member. The committee shall consist of the following voting members: 3 Administrators – one from each level (elementary, intermediate/middle school and high school) to be appointed by the Deputy Superintendent 9 Certified staff – three from each level (elementary, intermediate/middle school and high school) to be appointed by the Association 3 Classified staff to be appointed by the Meet and Confer Group 6 Parents/Community Members who are site council members to be appointed jointly by the Deputy Superintendent and the Association The committee shall also consist of the following nonvoting, advisory members: 1 Catholic school principal or their designee 1 USD #363 Superintendent or his designee 1 GCCC representative to be appointed by the GCCC President 2 Board members to be appointed by the Board President Voting members shall serve staggered three year terms and may serve two terms but must take off at least one year between terms. The committee shall make a recommendation for a school calendar within the guidelines of a minimum of 1116 hours and the hourly equivalent of no more than 10 teacher work and/or inservice days. As a general rule, student contact days should be scheduled in full day increments. One or more inservice day(s) may be flexibly scheduled. The calendars will include: (a) 2 full work days, one at the beginning of the school year, the day before students begin and the second on the first duty day of the second semester; additionally 2 days, either in ½ or full day increments; and (b) no more than 6 inservice days not to exceed 42 hours in any school year. The 5 additional days for new teachers shall include at least one-half day with the new teacher’s mentor and at least one workday The teachers will be given an opportunity to provide input to the committee before the committee submits the proposal to the board of Education for adoption.   • School Calendar The Dual Credit course schedule will be determined by the location of the course delivery, provided that the required contact hours and prerequisites are met. The instructional calendar for the high school portion of the School will be based on the School District calendar and comply with all related TEA regulations for school attendance. The School District will adjust its schedule as necessary to enable Students to enroll in and attend the college- level courses provided by College. The School District and College will coordinate the State Student assessment requirements to ensure said assessments are administered without penalty. The School District, School and College will ensure that the School calendar accounts for the required per-semester contact hours for courses. When the instructional delivery is on the College site, it may be necessary for Students to attend classes on days when the School District is closed (e.g., different holiday closures). When Students take classes at the College scheduled on days when School is closed, the School District will ensure that at least one staff member with administrative authority be on call and available to be reached by the College’s Office of High School Programs or other College staff in case of emergency. The designated School staff member will have access to Student emergency contact information. While the College agrees to make scheduling accommodations for required State assessments, including the STAAR and End of Course Exams, all contact hour requirements must be met. For assessments not mandated by the State, the College and School District will come to a mutual agreement on administration dates in order to appropriately manage disruptions of college courses and ensure contact hour requirements are met.
