Common use of Adoption/Paternity Leave Clause in Contracts

Adoption/Paternity Leave. 17.4.1 In the event of the birth or adoption of a child, an employee who is currently employed for a total of thirteen (13) weeks in the previous fifty-two (52) weeks shall be entitled to a maximum of six (6) months paternity leave without pay. Requests shall be made one (1) month in advance of the requested date of commencement. The leave may be taken in any combination before or after the birth or adoption of the child. Fifteen (15) calendar days' notice shall be given by an employee who intends to return to work prior to the expiration of the leave.
