Advances of sick leave. Upon approval of the SD, a staff person can get an advance of sick leave pay. A staff person can never owe PCC more than (8) hours of advance sick leave.

Advances of sick leave. The Water and Light Director may request that an employee be given an advance of sick leave not to exceed twenty (20) working days per calendar year, provided such employee has been a satisfactory employee of the Department for a period of at least one (1) year. Requests shall be in writing and shall offer adequate justification for the request. The advancement shall be authorized by the City Manager provided the employee has exhausted all eligible leave accruals and there is a reasonable chance that the employee will be able to offset the advance by future unused accruals of sick, vacation, and other authorized leaves as soon as possible.

  • Uses of Sick Leave Sick leave shall be granted to an employee upon approval of the Employer and for the following reasons:

  • Amount of Sick Leave (a) Full-time Employees - Full-time employees shall accumulate sick pay credits at the rate of one and a half (1-1/2) days per month for each calendar month of service up to a maximum credit of 240 days. The Parties agree that full-time employees will not accumulate sick leave credits during the separation period during July and August.

  • Utilization of Sick Leave Employees who have accrued paid leave time shall be eligible for paid leave for any period of absence from employment which includes but is not limited to the employee’s illness; injury; temporary disability; medical or dental care; or to attend to members of the employee’s or the employee’s spouse’s immediate family or domestic partner or domestic partner’s immediate family, where the employee’s presence is required because of illness or as otherwise required by the state or federal Family Medical Leave Act or other State law. The Employer may, in its sole discretion, require reasonable proof of illness or disability and/or certification of the necessity of the employee’s absence.

  • Extension of Sick Leave Unless an employee otherwise requests in writing, an employee who has used up her sick leave credits shall be granted advanced sick leave with pay for a period up to fifteen (15) days subject to the deduction of such advanced leave from any sick leave credits subsequently earned.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Reinstatement of Vacation Days - Sick Leave In the event an employee is sick or injured prior to the commencement of his/her vacation, such employee shall be granted sick leave and the vacation period so displaced shall be added to the vacation period if requested by the employee and by mutual agreement, or shall be reinstated for use at a later date.

  • Vacation and Sick Leave At such reasonable times as the Board of Directors shall in its discretion permit, the Employee shall be entitled, without loss of pay, to absent himself voluntarily from the performance of his employment under this Agreement, with all such voluntary absences to count as vacation time; provided that:

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave (a) (i) An employee is eligible to accumulate sick leave with full pay at the rate of two (2) days for each month of service.

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Employees may be required to provide medical proof of illness for any absence of a scheduled shift, which is neither vacation nor an approved leave of absence.
