Aid Certificate. Where the College requires instructors to obtain, renew or upgrade Industrial First Aid Certificates, any fees, tuition or costs of course material shall be borne by the College and the instructors shall be granted paid leave to take such training. Where the College requires instructors to be designated Industrial First Aid Attendants, the instructor shall be paid a stipend in recognition of being a designated Attendant.

Employees designated to act as the Occupational First Aid Attendant in addition to their normal job duties will receive their full monthly allowance while on approved leave with pay of up to 10 days or while on vacation leave with pay. Where the Employer has an additional requirement for a First Aid Attendant on a temporary basis, then provided the employee acts as the First Aid Attendant for a minimum of 10 workdays in any month, they shall receive the full monthly allowance.

Aid Certificate. The Board shall pay an allowance to an employee designated as a First Aid Attendant by the Board who has a valid First Aid Certificate. The certificate level is determined by the Workers’ Compensation regulations for each site. The Board shall reimburse a designate the applicable course fees for the acquisition or renewal of the certificate, subject to successful completion of the course. It will be the responsibility of the employee to apply for this reimbursement and provide proof of payment and proof of successful completion of the course.
