Alternative Workweek Schedule. The City has established an alternative workweek schedule for Fire Prevention Officers consisting of eight (8) nine (9) hour workdays, and one (1) eight (8) hour workday during an eighty (80) hour bi-weekly period. The City may establish an alternative work schedule consisting of four (4) consecutive ten (10) hour workdays in a seven (7) day FLSA work period. Management retains the right to determine shift start times and days off for any alternative schedule but will discuss any change to the schedule with the Union thirty (30) days in advance. Upon receipt of written notice from the City, the alternative workweek schedule will be terminated on a date mutually acceptable to the City and the affected employee(s) or thirty (30) calendar days from the date of written notice, whichever occurs first.

For example, Academic Professionals often travel on University business and/or work evenings and weekends.   • Modified Work/Return to Work Programs The Hospital and the Union recognize the purpose of modified work/return to work programs, is to provide fair and consistent practices for accommodating nurses who have been ill, injured or permanently disabled, to enable their early and safe return to work. The parties undertake to provide safe and meaningful employment for both permanently or temporarily disabled nurses based on the following principles:

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week shall be thirty-five (35) hours and is composed of five (5) consecutive standard work days.
