ARTICLE   EDUCATION FUND. If the local union indicates to the Hospital that a special assessment of per hour for union education applies to all bargaining unit members, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment along with a listing of employees will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by the applicable Local Union for this purpose.

ARTICLE   EDUCATION FUND. If the local Union indicates to the Hospital that a special assessment of three cents ($0.03) per hour for Union education applies to all bargaining unit members, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. In the event that an employee or group of employees, covered under the Regulated Health Professions Act are assigned a workload which is inconsistentwith proper patient care, they shall express their concerns to their supervisor. The employee shall complete a “Workload Review Form” which shall be providedto the supervisor and to the Union. The Workload Review Form will be attached as an Appendix to the collective agreement. Employees are encouraged to raisetheir concerns with immediate supervisor. In the event that the workload concern is not resolved to the employee’s satisfaction, the employee, or group of employees, may submit their concerns to either the Joint Health and Safety Committee (as constituted under the collective agreement‘s local appendix) or the Labour Management Committee (as constituted under Article 7.05) through their union representative in a format to be determined by the respective committee.

ARTICLE DURATION In the event the parties to this agreement agree to negotiate for its renewal through the process of central bargaining, either party to this agreement may give notice to the other party of its desire to bargain for 6' amendments on local matters proposedfor incorporationin the renewal of this agreement not earlier than six (6) calendar months nor later than three (3) calendar months prior to the normal termination date of this agreement. Upon receipt of such notice by one party from the other, both parties will meet within days thereafter for the purpose of bargaining on local matters. It is understood and agreed that "local matters" means those matters which have been determined by mutual agreement between the Central NegotiatingCommittees respectively representingeach of the parties to this agreement as being subjects for local bargaining directly between the parties to this agreement. It is also agreed that local bargaining shall be subject to such procedures as may be determined by mutual agreement between the Central Negotiating Committees referred to above.

  • Special Education Teachers Whenever any Elementary Special Education class to which a student(s) is(are) added as a result of the distribution of students from the class of an absent Elementary Special Education teacher, Article 8-7 shall be in effect. In addition, whenever the class size of the receiving Special Education teacher exceeds the class size maxim mandated by Special Education class size law and/or regulation, the Xxxxxxxx Formula in AAA Case No. 1139-0696- 85, February 21, 1986, shall be used to calculate the compensation which said teacher shall receive as follows: The rate of pay for said teacher for teaching said additional students shall be computed by multiplying the teacher’s daily gross compensation by a fraction in which the denominator is twenty-six (26) and the numerator is the number of children taught in excess of Article 8-1.1 Item 3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the parties.

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • Continuing Education 24.01 The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.
