Professional Practice. The parties agree that nurses who have professional practice complaints will make such complaint in writing to their manager and if such complaint is not resolved then it will be considered an appropriate topic at ONA management committee, unless otherwise agreed by the parties. The parties agree that ONA members may use the ONA Professional Responsibility and Workload Report Form.

For evaluations conducted on or after July 1, 2013, all certificated instructional employees must receive an evaluation in which at least ninety percent (90%) of the evaluation results are based on Professional Practice. Professional Practice. Professional practice encompasses the activities undertaken by Professional Resource Faculty in their roles as Counsellors, Librarians, Nursing Laboratory Resource Professionals, Writing and Learning Consultants, and Learning Specialists;
Professional Practice. (a) The essentials of the professional practice component are as set out in Articles 5.4 and 8.5.
(b) Achievement in professional practice may be evidenced by the following:
(i) Annual performance reviews;
(ii) Written references by colleagues at the University and, where a Librarian has had significant professional experience as a librarian outside the University, by external referees;
(iii) Unsolicited letters and testimonials from students;
(iv) A statement by the member describing his or her aims and methods of professional librarianship; and
(v) Any other materials that the member would like to be considered.
Professional Practice. Librarians further the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge and understanding through the application of their professional expertise. Professional practice includes the following:

Provide: - Individual and group short-term personal counselling for current students. - Information and outreach to students on counselling services. - Consultation to KPU employees on student psycho-social and mental health concerns. • Develop and deliver a range of counselling-related workshops as directed by the Director, Counselling Services. • Consult with on-campus and off-campus resources, programs, and services related to student issues and needs. • Maintain accurate and confidential records, generate statistics, prepare resources for students, write reports, maintain a referral network, and respond to inquiries. • Assist KPU in responding to critical incidents, where appropriate.
Professional Practice. Section 1: The Hospitals recognize that registered nurses have the right to subscribe to the XXX Code of Ethics for Nurses and the XXX Bill of Rights. The Hospitals support and endorse this individual subscription to this Code and Bill. By law, however, the Hospitals are ultimately responsible for all patient care performed within the Hospitals, therefore, the ONA recognizes that neither the Hospitals nor any of their employees are
Section 2: ONA and OSUNO recognize the value in a shared governance model. OSUNO representatives may apply and be selected to shared governance councils according to established application guidelines.
Section 3: In order that staff nurses may be able to provide direct and continuous care to patients, nursing management with the assistance of charge nurses shall be responsible for obtaining additional staffing. In no case shall a charge nurse be required to mandate another staff nurse to work extra hours. No nurse shall be required to delegate or direct nursing activities to other personnel contrary to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Section 4: In the event a condition arises on a nursing unit where a nurse or nurses have concern regarding nursing care, staffing or patient safety, this concern shall be communicated to the immediate supervisor for possible alternative solutions. Established nursing channels will be utilized for communication and problem solving. Nursing management is committed to consider information received from all sources in relation to effective management to meet nursing care requirements. Nursing management agrees to respond to the concern of the nurse or nurses in writing as soon as practicable. The Hospitals will not create a condition that would require a nurse to violate the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Section 5: The Clinical Ladder Program shall be maintained during the life of the Agreement between the Parties provided however, that upon thirty (30) days written notice to the ONA, the Hospitals may make such modification to the program as it deems advisable. As part of the program, the Hospitals agree to a base pay increase of four percent (4%) for Clinical Ladder III status, and six percent (6%) more for Clinical Ladder IV status. Professional Practice. Responsibilities performed under Professional Practice by the Veterinarian Member will vary, depending on the responsibilities defined by his/her Position Description. Assignment of responsibilities shall be made with due regard to a Member’s Position Description, and shall be fair and equitable within each veterinary service. Changes to the composition of responsibilities shall be determined by the Director after discussion with the Member.

The rating for professional practice will be based on the combined total score for the four domains based on the following scale: Excellent 15-16 Proficient 11-14 Needs Improvement 7-10 Unsatisfactory 4-6 The Professional Practice Rating will comprise no more than 70% of the member’s overall summative rating. The rating for student growth will be based on the criteria established by the PERA Joint Committee. The student growth rating will comprise at least 30% of the member’s overall summative rating. The evaluation will be reviewed with the teacher no later than the first Friday in March (pre-tenured) and the last school day in May (tenured).
