Association/Union Leave. 1. The Board agrees to allow the Unit President of the Association/Union or his/her representative a leave up to a maximum of two (2) working days in a school year to attend workshops and/or conferences related to Association responsibilities. Said leave shall be without pay or at the employee’s option with accrued personal or vacation leave pay. A reasonable notice shall be given in writing to the Superintendent.

Association representatives employed by the District shall, upon request and approval by the Office of Employee Relations, be excused during the duty day to confer with Board representatives and perform duties of the Association and such time shall be considered as time worked.

  • Association Leave A total of 10 days of leave with pay during the current school year shall be granted the Association for use by the Association. A maximum of four additional days may be used for Association leave and the substitute’s salary will be reimbursed to the Board by the Association. The President of the Association will notify the Superintendent as to the educators and dates involved at least five (5) days before such leave is desired.

  • Association Leaves 1. The Board will provide the Association President or their designee with forty (40) days of paid release time during the course of the school year in order to conduct Association Business. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute required as the result of any such released time which exceeds forty (40) days during the course of the school year.

  • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members. Although leaves for short terms without loss of pay may be granted upon approval by the Office of the Superintendent, the Federation shall reimburse the District for the cost of salaries and fringe benefits.

  • Union Leave A leave of absence without pay to attend to Union business shall be granted to an employee. Two (2) weeks advance notice shall be given to the Employer indicating that such leave is required and unless otherwise agreed to by the Employer no more than one (1) bargaining unit employee shall be entitled to such leave at any one (1) time.   • Association Business Leave A total of ten (10) days Association Business Leave shall be allowed by the district on condition that a competent qualified substitute employee is available and willing to serve. The designated representative of the Association and officers of the Association shall be allowed to take such leave for conducting Association Business or to attend state or local conferences. Substitutes hired by the District to cover such absences shall be paid for by the Association. At least five (5) normal business days advance notification of intent to take such leave shall be given to the Superintendent by the Association President.

  • ASSOCIATION LEAVE AND SECONDMENT 13.1 A teacher shall be granted leave of absence with pay provided the School Division is reimbursed by the Association for the actual costs of the substitute, including the School Division portion of statutory benefit contributions, to fulfill the duties as an elected or appointed member of the Provincial Executive Council, Discipline and Practice Review Committees, and central and local table negotiating committees.
