Association Leave Days. The Association will be provided up to twelve (12) school days for conducting Association business provided: A. The Association makes a written request for each leave day at least two (2) school days prior to the date of the requested leave, except in the case of emergency. B. No more than two (2) teachers, per building, may request an Association leave day for the same school day. C. The Association pays the cost of the substitute employed to replace the teacher on Association leave.

Association Leave Days. Association Leave shall be granted to an Employee in accordance with the following: 9.12.1 The Association shall submit a written request to the Superintendent or designee for such leave at least seven (7) days in advance of commencement of the leave. Such request shall state the specific reason for the requested leave, name of the Employee, and the day or days of the leave. 9.12.2 The granting of such leave shall be subject to the Employer's determination that the Employee's absence will not impair the quality of classroom instruction. Such leave shall be approved for either one-half (½) or all of the normal scheduled Employee workday. 9.12.3 There shall not be an aggregate number of Association leave days in any school term in excess of thirty (30) normal workdays for all Employees. 9.12.4 No more than seven (7) Employees may be absent pursuant to this Section on any one (1) school day. 9.12.5 The Association shall reimburse the Employer the Board approved rate for substitute Employees for the current school term for each such day, provided the Employer employs a substitute for such day.

At the beginning of each school year, the Association shall be credited with fifty (50)* school days to be used by teachers who are officers or agents of the Association, such use to be at the discretion of the Association. 2. The Association President or his/her designated representative shall notify the Board no less than twenty-four (24) prior to the intended use of said leave unless otherwise mutually agreed to or unless the Association President (or designee) has received less than twenty-four (24) hours notice from a teacher of a classroom observation under Article 15 of this Agreement, and there exists a need to meet with that teacher prior to the observation. 3. Association leave days may be taken in either whole or half day segments and, in either case, use of such days will be appropriately subtracted from the credited amount. *Twenty-five (25) of these days shall be made available to the Association without cost and twenty-five (25) with the understanding that the Board be reimbursed moneys expended to cover salary costs of substitutes employed during the absence of Association officers or agents.
Association Leave Days. The Association will be granted eight (8) Association leave days per year with no more than three people gone at one time without the consent of the district. The president of the Association shall approve such days and submit documentation of such to the business office no less than 3 days in advance of such leave. In case of an emergency, this timeline may be waived by the district. If any additional days are needed, such request(s) will be at the discretion of the Superintendent or his/her designee. Such days shall not be used for purposes of engaging in demonstrations, including labor disputes, on behalf of the MEA or Association.

Association Leave Days. The ASSOCIATION shall be granted up to twenty-five (25) days released time per year for use by administrators participating in professional organization activities and conferences. If a substitute is required for the use of these days, then the ASSOCIATION shall reimburse the BOARD for the cost of the substitute. Any absence of a particular administrator will need to be approved by the immediate supervisor and Superintendent at least one (1) week in advance of the absence. No individual may use more than five (5) of these days without approval of the appropriate Assistant Superintendent/Director.

Association Leave Days. Leaves of absence with pay will be granted to those employees with seniority who are elected or selected by the Association for attending educational classes, business sessions, or conventions conducted by the Association. Leaves of absences granted, pursuant to this section to employees so selected or elected, shall not exceed an aggregate total of twenty (20) working days per calendar year, and no one employee so selected or elected shall be granted such leave for more than fifteen (15) working days. Such absences shall be approved if not less than five (5) working days notice is given to the employee’s supervisor and the University Human Resources Department, and provided that the employee’s absence will not unreasonably interfere with the Employer’s operation.
