Basis of Leave. All full-time employees upon completion of sixty (60) working days shall be eligible to be granted sick leave with pay for periods of up to fifteen (15) weeks during unavoidable absence due to illness or injury not compensable under the provisions of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. In the event of a recurrence of an illness or injury within three (3) months of a return to work following the most recent absence, such recurrence shall be deemed to be a continuation of the original illness or injury for the purpose of sick leave pay. In the event of a recurrence of an illness or injury beyond three (3) months of a return to work following the most recent absence such recurrence shall be deemed to be a new illness or injury.

Regular rate of pay for Part-Time employees equals the hourly rate multiplied by the number of hours an employee is regularly scheduled to work each day.

  • Jury Leave In keeping with the policy that an employee not suffer a loss of pay while serving as a juror, the remuneration to be received by the employee on any working day the employee reports for or serves on jury duty shall be regular rate of pay for the day less jury duty fees receivable for that day.

  • Taking of Leave (a) Annual leave shall be given and shall be taken within a period of six months after the date when the right to annual leave accrued; provided that the giving and taking of such leave may be postponed by mutual agreement between the parties for a further period not exceeding six months.   • Use of Leave An employee does not need to use this leave entitlement in one block. Leave can be taken intermittently or on a reduced leave schedule when medically necessary. Employees must make reasonable efforts to schedule leave for planned medical treatment so as not to unduly disrupt the employer’s operations. Leave due to qualifying exigencies may also be taken on an intermittent basis.
