Beginning Teacher. 1. In determining the teaching assignment of a beginning teacher the principal in consultation with the staff shall consider the following:

Beginning Teacher. 1. In determining the teaching assignment of a beginning teacher the Administrative Officer, in consultation with the staff, shall consider the following: - the instructional assignment; - class demands; - mentor support; - orientation.
Beginning Teacher. The Beginning Teacher Evaluation is designed for all newly hired teachers without career licensure. The purpose of Beginning Teacher Evaluation is to:
1) Ensure that the Iowa Teaching Standards, criteria for the standards, and the expectations of the local school district are understood, accepted and demonstrated.
2) Provide support in the implementation of the standards
3) Provide evidence to support continuing employment and movement to the career teacher level
4) Facilitate the new teacher’s engagement in professional development through the Mentoring and Induction Plan and the district career development plan (CSIP).
5) Provide evidence to make recommendations to Board of Educational Examiners on licensure for beginning teachers.
Beginning Teacher. Subd.1. A teacher placed in the beginning teacher lane will remain in that lane until the teacher has reached continuing contract status and has completed 12 semester graduate credits germane to their teaching assignment as determined by the School District and has submitted a plan for a degree program which has been accepted by the Superintendent.
Beginning Teacher a. There shall be special assistance given to each beginning teacher by the Administration through orientation which includes familiarization with the building, the District, the Agreement, applicable Board Policy, and the Building Procedures.
b. There shall be a review by the Building Principal through pre- and post- observation conference(s) and regular appraisal cycle observation(s) and December and April report.
c. The Teacher Self-Help Questionnaire must be completed.
d. The December report shall be completed by December 31 and the April report shall be completed by April 30; with at least one (1) observation completed prior to each of the December and April Reports.
Beginning Teacher. Newly employed classroom teachers possessing a preliminary credential who will participate in the District Induction program.
Beginning Teacher. Any unit member having probationary or temporary status, or any teaching intern participating in a program established according to Education Code Sections 44279.1 et seq.
Beginning Teacher. 20.1.1 In order to help new bargaining unit members successfully begin their careers in the District, all newly hired bargaining unit members with less than two (2) full years of fully credentialed teaching experience will be required to participate in the BTSA Program. All bargaining unit members who possess a preliminary credential, intern credential, emergency credential, or other approved California provisional credential are required to participate in the BTSA Program.
20.1.2 Unit members who are BTSA Support Providers shall provide approximately the same amount of service beyond the workday/work year as the North Coastal BTSA Consortium’s Support Providers, and receive the same stipend as said providers. If said service is for less than a full school year, the stipend amount shall be prorated accordingly.
20.1.3 A teacher in his/her first or second year of BTSA shall not be required to accept assignments to District-wide committees.
Beginning Teacher. Teachers on call will each be provided a WHMIS booklet explaining the program before appointment to the district

Any unit member having probationary or temporary status, or any district teaching intern participating in a program established according to Education Code Sections 44305, et seq. and 44325, et seq. This Peer Program is to be closely coordinated with other district programs for training and assistance to beginning teachers.
