Bidding and Mileage a. Sleeper cab runs approved pursuant to the provisions of Article 47 will be posted and employees may bid for such runs in accordance with the bidding procedures set forth in this Agreement. No seniority employee shall be forced to drive in a sleeper cab run. A senior driver who successfully bids a sleeper cab run shall be permitted to select his respective sleeper cab team partner without regard to seniority, provided that the driver selected as a partner has, prior to such bid, acknowledge his agreement, in writing, to accept such permanent sleeper cab run driving assignment and provided further that the selected partner possesses the required qualifications.

Bidding and Mileage a. Sleeper cab runs approved pursuant to the provisions of Article 47 will be posted and employees may bid for such runs in accordance with the bidding procedures set forth in this Agreement. No seniority employee shall be forced to drive in a sleeper cab run unless otherwise provided in their Feeder Work Rules or Local Union practice. If after the bidding process is exhausted, the new jobs/vacancies have not been filled, the following procedure shall apply. The jobs will be offered to other facilities within the jurisdiction of the local union which have qualified feeder drivers on lay-off, displaced, or otherwise not holding a bid within the feeder classification, before hiring off the street. To be eligible to transfer and fill these new jobs/vacancies, the employee must be qualified at the time the job is offered. Any employees transferring from another facility pursuant to this paragraph will have their seniority determined by this agreement. The employee shall retain benefits (e.g. vacation, sick leave, holidays, etc.) based on the employee’s length of service. If no employee fills these new jobs/vacancies, the company will hire off the street. Drivers hired off the street to cover open sleeper jobs under this provision will be required to perform Sleeper work for a period of eighteen (18) months.   • Skidding and Yarding Methods of skid- ding or yarding specified for particular areas, if any, are indicated on Sale Area Map.   • Felling and Bucking Felling shall be done to minimize breakage of Included Timber and dam- age to residual timber. Unless agreed otherwise, felling shall be done by saws or shears. Bucking shall be done to permit removal of all minimum pieces set forth in A2. Purchaser may buck out cull material when necessary to produce pieces meeting Utilization Standards. Such bucked out material shall contain a minimum amount of sound wood, not in excess of the net scale in percentage of gross scale, or based on the merchantability factor, whichever is stated in A2. If necessary to assess extent of defect, Purchaser shall make sample saw cuts or wedges. B6.411 Felling in Clearings. Insofar as ground conditions, tree lean, and shape of clearings per- mit, trees shall be felled so that their tops do not extend outside Clearcutting Units, construction clearings, and ar- eas of regeneration cutting. B6.000 Xxxxx Xxxxxxx. Stumps shall not exceed, on the side adjacent to the highest ground, the maximum heights set forth in A6, except that occasional stumps of greater heights are acceptable when Purchaser determines that they are necessary for safe and efficient conduct of logging. Unless otherwise agreed, Purchaser shall re-cut high stumps so they will not exceed heights specified in A6 and shall dispose of severed portions in the same manner as other logging debris. The xxxxx heights shown in A6 were selected with the objective of maximum reasonable utilization of the timber, unless Sale Area Map shows special areas where xxxxx heights are lower for aesthetic, land treatment, or silvicultural rea- sons.

  • Training and Promotion a. The contractor will assist in locating, qualifying, and increasing the skills of minorities and women who are applicants for employment or current employees. Such efforts should be aimed at developing full journey level status employees in the type of trade or job classification involved.

  • JOB POSTING AND BIDDING A. Notices of bargaining unit job vacancies, excluding temporary and on-call vacancies, shall be posted on the bulletin board at each facility for a period of three (3) business days prior to filling the vacancy. The Notice should include the job requirements specific to the position being posted. The full and complete minimum requirements for the position will be maintained by the personnel representative for disclosure to applicants at the time of bid.
