New Jobs. Any new job or jobs created by technological or mechanization changes shall be offered to present employees capable of being trained to perform the new or changed job and the Employer will provide such training. An employee whose job is eliminated, if any, and who cannot be placed in a job of equal grade shall receive saved grade until such time as that employee fails to bid or apply for a position in the employee’s former wage level. New Jobs. The Employer shall have the right to establish evaluate, change and obsolete jobs, providing such action on the part of the Employer shall not be directed toward reducing the rate of a job in which no substantial change in the job itself has occurred. When a new or revised operation involves duties which are not adequately or specifically described or properly evaluated in an existing job description, specification and classification, the Employer has the right to develop and establish such new or revised job descriptions, specifications and classifications, rates of pay and to place them into effect. Whenever a new job is made operational, the Employer shall establish a job description. The Employer will notify the Union of such new or changed jobs.

New Jobs a. When new jobs are placed in operation during the term of this Agreement and they cannot be properly placed into an existing classification by mutual agreement between the parties, the Employer shall place into effect a new classification and a rate of pay for the job in question and shall designate the classification and pay rate as temporary. The Employer shall notify the Union, in writing, of any such temporary job which has been placed into effect upon the institution of such job.
b. The new classification and rate of pay shall be considered as temporary for a period of thirty (30) calendar days following the date of written notification to the Union. During this thirty (30) calendar day period, but not thereafter during the life of this Agreement, the Union may request, in writing, the Employer to negotiate the classification and pay rate. The negotiated rate, if higher than the temporary rate, shall be applied to the date the employee first began working in the temporary classification, except as otherwise mutually agreed. In a case where the parties are unable to agree on the classification and/or rate of pay, the issue may be submitted to the Grievance Procedure. When a new classification has been assigned a permanent rate of pay, either as a result of the Union not requesting negotiations for the temporary classification during the specified period of time, or as a result of final negotiations or upon resolving the matter through the Grievance Procedure, the new classification shall be added to and become a part of Schedule A of this Agreement.

In the event they cannot be properly placed into an existing classification by mutual agreement between the parties, the Employer shall place into effect a new classification and rate of pay for the job in question, and shall designate the classification and pay rate as temporary. The Employer shall notify the Association in writing of any such temporary job which has been placed into effect upon the institution of such job.

The Arbitrator shall render his/her decision based solely upon the final position of either of the parties. When a new classification has been assigned a permanent rate of pay, temporary classification during the specified period of time, or as a result of final negotiations, or upon resolving the matter through arbitration, the classification shall be added to and become a part of this Agreement.

When a new classification has been assigned a permanent rate of pay, either as a result of the Association not requesting negotiations for the temporary classification during the specified period of time, or as a result of final negotiations, or upon resolving the matter through the grievance procedure, the new classification and rate of pay shall be added to and become a part of Appendix A of this Agreement.
C. Beginning July 1, 1993, the Board shall notify the Association of any proposed new jobs such as new grants, new bus runs, and/or other assignments which include duties normally performed by bargaining unit members. Such jobs shall be considered temporary jobs for up to one (1) year.
New Jobs. The Company will provide to the Union descriptions of new jobs prior to their implementation, and no job will be posted until the Union has received a copy of the job description. The Company and the Union will meet to discuss and attempt to agree on the rate for the job.
New Jobs. 7.1 A new job should be evaluated by a joint panel.
New Jobs. In the event that a new job is created, or an existing job is vacated so that there are no incumbents in the job, the Director will forward a job analysis questionnaire or a job description amendment to the Human Resources Division. The Human Resources Division shall prepare a draft job description, which will be evaluated by the Committee in the same manner as previously set forth. The new job description shall be forwarded to both the Union and the Employer for comment.
