Bidding by Seniority i. The most senior bus driver shall decide their first choice of route or non-regularly scheduled trip. The second most senior bus driver shall then decide their first choice of route or non-regularly scheduled trip. This method will continue in descending order of seniority until all bus drivers have completed their first choice of assignments. Should additional trips remain on the list, the process will commence beginning with the next most senior driver in the rotation. Should a unit member accept or decline a driving assignment, the unit member shall provide written authorization and the bidding of assignments will commence with the next most senior driver in the rotation. ii. Unit members shall not be prevented from assignment to a field trip due to unfamiliarity with the trip. The district shall provide an opportunity to become familiar with field trip routes if the assigned unit member is unfamiliar with the driving route. iii. The field trip assignments and rotation list will be updated as practical and maintained in locations accessible and known to the affected unit members.

Bidding by Seniority. Employees with the greatest seniority shall bid first. ● Bidding by proxy will be allowed, including signing for extra work. Employees bidding by proxy must designate their proxy in writing to the Supervisor of Transportation no later than two (2) working days prior to bid day. Those who bid by proxy will NOT be paid for bid time. ● A driver/aide who is on medical leave of absence at the time of bid will not be eligible to bid. ● A driver/aide who goes on a medical leave during the school year and returns before the 45 calendar day period will maintain their same bid positions. During the time of leave, bid positions will be covered by a substitute driver/aide. If the absent driver/aide fails to return at the expiration of such leave or 45-day calendar period. Whichever occurs first, the driver/aide shall lose the bid position/s, which shall be re-bid as a permanent vacancy. ● On the 46th calendar day bid positions will be posted. If the driver/aide returns after the expiration of the leave or the 45 calendar day period, they will be eligible to bid on any open positions. If no open positions are available, they will be assigned as a substitute driver/aide at the hourly rate of pay earned when granted the leave. Bumping will not be permitted upon return. ● If there are no GenEd or special education routes left but middle positions are still available, then drivers/aides may bid on just a middle route.

  • Posting of Seniority List The Administration shall post the seniority list twice annually by October 1 and March 1 of each work year. The seniority list shall be posted on the designated bulletin board in each building/work site and will indicate, by area of certification, license, or entry-level requirement, the first day worked, the date of Board resolution to hire, and the contract status (limited or continuing) of each employee. Said list shall be provided by the Superintendent to the Association President on or before the date of posting. A. The name of employees on the seniority list shall appear in seniority rank order within areas of certification, license, or entry-level requirements, with the name of the most senior employee appearing at the top of the listing and the name of the least senior employee appearing at the bottom of the listing. B. The names of employees who are certificated, licensed, or otherwise minimally qualified in more than one (1) area shall be included on the listing for all areas of certification, license, or entry-level requirement. C. The names of part-time employees shall appear on the seniority list but shall be listed separately from the names of full-time employees.

  • Accrual of Seniority Seniority shall accrue during: (a) the first one hundred and nineteen (119) calendar days of sick leave including time on E.I. sick benefit or Income Replacement Benefits under the Automobile Insurance Act; (b) unpaid leaves of absence up to and including one hundred and sixty-eight (168) work hours in a calendar year; (c) hours absent while receiving benefits from the Worker’s Compensation Board; (d) temporary positions, out-of-scope of any union, with the Employer not to exceed twelve (12) months unless extended by mutual agreement with the union; (e) bereavement leave, pressing necessity leave, family responsibility leave, medical care leave; (f) jury duty and court service; (g) vacation leave; (h) leave for elected Public Office; (i) union leave; (j) all maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave; (k) education leave up to twenty-four (24) months. (l) Long-term disability or Income Replacement Benefits under the Automobile Insurance Act. (m) If an Employee’s hours of work are reduced due to a disability, full-time Employees shall maintain their pre- disability accrual rate. Other than full-time Employees shall accrue seniority as follows: (i) For those who have worked one (1) year or more: Paid Hours in Previous 52 Weeks = Seniority Hours Per 52 Week of Leave (ii) For other than full-time Employees who have worked for less than one (1) year:

  • Transfer of Seniority The affected employer(s) and affected union(s) shall meet to determine any provisions for a transfer of seniority between bargaining units.

  • Loss of Seniority An employee shall lose all seniority and shall be deemed terminated if:

  • Equal Seniority If two (2) or more employees subject to layoff have equal class seniority, the determination as to who shall be laid off will be made on the basis of the greater hire date seniority, and if that be equal, then the determination shall be made by lot.

  • MEMBERS OF DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS AND CONSULAR POSTS Nothing in this Agreement shall affect the fiscal privileges of members of diplomatic missions or consular posts under the general rules of international law or under the provisions of special agreements.

  • Departmental Seniority Departmental seniority is defined as the length of employment within the employee’s current department. Department seniority shall accrue as of the first day of employment or transfer into a new department.

  • Department Seniority Department seniority is defined as continuous length of service in calendar days within the employee’s department and where applicable, shall be used for internal department processes, such as vacation and schedule bids.
