BUILDING CONDITIONS. Because the physical conditions of a building are influential factors in a student's learning environment, the District shall improve cleanliness of the buildings by providing personnel and supplies. It will be the responsibility of the teachers to inform the building administrator, in writing, of any concerns or needs within any building. It will then be the administrator's responsibility to see the needs are met and problems are corrected. 1987-88
BUILDING CONDITIONS. The School District shall make available in each school, lunchroom and lavatory facilities exclusively for employee use and at least one room, properly furnished, which shall be reserved for use as a faculty lounge. Provisions for such facilities shall be made in all future buildings, however, this paragraph shall not be construed to require construction of additional facilities in present buildings.

The Gash Area and broken windows exposed the interior of the Building to the elements, which may have caused some further impacts after the initial exposures and events of September 11, 2001. Subsequent to September 11, 2001, certain operations were undertaken by the then-owner Deutsche Bank to partially clear debris from the plaza, lobby, and interior spaces in the Gash Area. The immediate Gash Area was partially cleaned to permit the construction of columns, beams, and floor decks to stabilize the Gash Area. The majority of the office furniture in the Building was removed.

BUILDING CONDITIONS. The landlord must ensure that your unit and all common areas are safe and sanitary as of the first day of your tenancy. This is known as the “warranty of habitability.” The landlord must maintain your apartment and all common areas of the building in compliance with the housing code, including keeping the premises safe and secure and free of rodents and pests, keeping the structure and facilities of the building in good repair, and ensuring adequate heat, lighting, and ventilation. The tenant has the right to receive a copy of a notice of violation issued to the landlord (14 DCMR §§ 106; 301; & 400-999)
