CALL FOR WORK. Section 5.1 When an employee is "called for work" (i.e., accepts a work opportunity offered by the Company that requires his or her immediate services outside of the scheduled tour), the following shall apply, depending on the nature of the call for work: (a) If departure from the employee's residence or departing location is not required, payment for the Call for Work shall be a minimum of two (2) hours. Time spent resolving the problem shall be considered actual work time. The actual work time shall be paid at the applicable premium rate. The balance of any time up to the required minimum shall be paid at the basic wage rate. (b) If departure from the employee's residence or departing location is required, payment for the Call for Work shall be a minimum of three (3) hours. Time spent resolving the problem, including travel time from the employee's residence or departing location commencing upon departure to the work location and upon return to his or her residence or departing location, shall be considered actual work time. The actual work time shall be paid at the applicable premium rate. The balance of any time up to the required minimum shall be paid at the basic wage rate. When an employee on a call for work continues to work into his or her scheduled tour, travel time for the return trip home shall not be paid. The minimum three (3) hour payment does not apply to the following: (1) Time worked during a meal period falling within the hours of the employee's scheduled tour. (2) Time worked as a continuation of the employee's scheduled tour on that day. (3) If the employee is called to work before the start of the employee's scheduled tour for the day and continues to work all or part of his or her scheduled tour. Employees in Local Network Operations will be “called for work” primarily to respond to customer service issues including the following: • Emergency services (e.g. 911, fire, police) • T1/T3 and higher reported outages • HICAP reported outages • Multi-line business reported outages • Reported cable, system or other facility/plant damage and/or outages • Public, medical or health emergenciesNetwork monitoring alarms • Escalations from high profile customers • Tariff, 271 or other regulatory responsibilitiesActs of God Section 5.2 When a call for work requires an employee to drive a personal automobile, the Company shall pay the employee for actual mileage according to the mileage allowance rate in Article 9, Section 9.4(3), except when ...

  • Fitness for Work 6.2.1 The parties to this Agreement agree that the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment will be enhanced by adopting a pro-active approach to addressing fitness for work issues, including the misuse of drugs and alcohol in the workplace, workplace stress and fatigue. The management of these occupational health and safety issues will assist to eliminate a contributing factor to workplace injuries and accidents. 6.2.2 The Company will provide confidential assistance and counselling through an Employee Assistance Program to Employees to overcome problems that may impair their fitness for work. The Company will also provide education and training to Employees on fitness for work issues.

  • PAYMENT FOR WORK The H-GAC Customer is responsible for making payment to the Contractor upon delivery and acceptance of the goods or completion of the services and submission of the subsequent invoice.

  • REPORTING FOR WORK 11.01 An employee reporting for work at the scheduled starting time, unless notified the previous day not to report, and for whom no work is available, shall receive four

  • Additional Work If changes in the work seem merited by Consultant or the City, and informal consultations with the other party indicate that a change is warranted, it shall be processed in the following manner: a letter outlining the changes shall be forwarded to the City by Consultant with a statement of estimated changes in fee or time schedule. An amendment to this Agreement shall be prepared by the City and executed by both Parties before performance of such services, or the City will not be required to pay for the changes in the scope of work.   • Summer Work a. This section shall apply only to those employees hired to fill temporary summer positions. b. The District will provide the Association with a list of expected summer work job openings prior to the last day of school. Summer positions shall be included on the District’s website. c. The District shall not fill summer positions with outside employees until bargaining unit members have had at least three (3) working days to submit applications.

  • Unit Price Work Work to be paid for on the basis of unit prices as defined and described in the Contract Documents. A percentage markup for overhead or profit shall be included in all unit prices.

  • Major Workplace Change 11.1 If the Employer has made a decision to introduce a major workplace change that is likely to have a Significant Effect on a number of Employees, the Employer must notify the Employee(s) who will be affected by the decision .As soon as practicable and prior to implementation, the Employer must discuss with the relevant Employees and/or their nominated representative/s (e.g. Union or other representative) the introduction of the change; and the effect the change is likely to have on the Employees. The Employer must discuss measures to avert or mitigate the adverse effect of the change on the Employees. 11.2 For the purposes of the discussion the Employer will provide the relevant Employees and/or their nominated representative/s in writing: (a) All relevant information about the change including the nature of the change proposed; (b) Information about the expected effects of the change on the Employees; and (c) Any other matters likely to affect the Employees. However, the Employer is not required to disclose confidential or commercially sensitive information. The Employer must give prompt and genuine consideration to matters raised about the major change by the relevant Employees.

  • OTHER WORK 14.1 Owner may perform other work related to the Project at the site by Owner’s own forces, have other work performed by utility owners or let other direct contracts. If the fact that such other work is to be performed is not noted in the Contract Documents, written notice thereof will be given to Construction Contractor prior to starting any such other work. If Construction Contractor believes that such performance will involve additional expense to Construction Contractor or require additional time, Construction Contractor shall send written notice of that fact to Owner and Design Professional within seven (7) calendar days of being notified of the other work. If Construction Contractor fails to send the above required seven (7) calendar days’ notice, Construction Contractor will be deemed to have waived any rights it otherwise may have had to seek an extension to the Contract Time or adjustment to the Contract Amount. 14.2 Construction Contractor shall afford each utility owner and other contractor who is a party to such a direct contract (or Owner, if Owner is performing the additional work with Owner’s employees) proper and safe access to the site and a reasonable opportunity for the introduction and storage of materials and equipment and the execution of such work and shall properly connect and coordinate its Work with theirs. Construction Contractor shall do all cutting, fitting and patching of the Work that may be required to make its several parts come together properly and integrate with such other work. Construction Contractor shall be responsible for all damage to the work of others caused by the performance of its Work. Further, Construction Contractor shall not in any way cut or alter the work of others without first receiving the written consent of that other person and Design Professional. 14.3 If any part of Construction Contractor’s Work depends for proper execution or results upon the work of any other contractor or utility owner (or Owner), Construction Contractor shall inspect and promptly report to Design Professional in writing any delays, defects or deficiencies in such work that render it unavailable or unsuitable for such proper execution and results. Such report must be made within seven (7) calendar days of the time Construction Contractor first became aware of the delay, defect or deficiency or by the scheduled commencement of Construction Contractor’s dependent Work, whichever occurs first. Construction Contractor’s failure to report within the allotted time will constitute an acceptance of the other work as fit and proper for integration with Construction Contractor’s Work.

  • UNIT WORK When the Employer deems it necessary in order to carry out a mission and operations of the campus, the Employer may contract out work provided that the contracting out does not displace bargaining unit employees or reduces their scheduled hours. The Maine Community College shall notify MSEA-SEIU when contracting out is to be implemented. MSEA-SEIU may request to meet and confer on the impact on contracting out such work. The Maine Community College shall meet with MSEA-SEIU within thirty (30) days of such request. Notice to MSEA-SEIU shall be not later than one hundred twenty (120) days prior to the commencement of the contracting out. In emergency circumstances, when the College enters into a contract under which contracting out will commence in less than thirty (30) days, when possible, notification shall be made two (2) weeks prior to implementing the contract, but in no event later than ten (10) working days after the commencement of the contracting out. Prior to the meeting and conferring on contracting out, the Maine Community College System will provide MSEA-SEIU all relevant written information, including copies of bids received, any cost analysis used by the College to evaluate the need for contracting out, and all other relevant material used by the College in making its decision regarding contracting out. Contracting out of the type of work normally performed by existing bargaining unit members for limited periods not to exceed six (6) months shall be allowed without the Union’s agreement if one or more of the following conditions are present at the affected campus or other non-campus location (such as the System Office in Augusta): 1. The skills and abilities or legally required licenses or equipment needed to perform the work are not available within the bargaining unit. 2. The opportunity to do the work is declined by any qualified and available bargaining unit employees. “Qualified” as used in this Article is defined as having special skills, abilities, license or equipment necessary to perform the work.

  • Alternate Work Schedule An alternate work schedule is any work schedule where an employee is regularly scheduled to work five (5) days per week, but the employee’s regularly scheduled two (2) days off are NOT Saturday and Sunday.
