Chief of Employee Relations. If the grievance/appeal is not settled under Step 1 and it concerns: an interpretation or an application of this Memorandum of Understanding; a performance evaluation rating of “does not meet performance objectives”; deferral or denial of a merit increase, or a dispute about the number of steps granted; or a written reprimand; or a probationary release alleging discrimination; it may be appealed in writing to the Chief of Employee Relations within seven (7) calendar days after receipt of the written decision from Step 1. Appeal of a suspension and/or a reduction ordered by an Agency/Department Head or his or her designated representative may be submitted in writing at Step 2 within ten (10) calendar days after receipt of the notice of suspension and/or reduction. Within fourteen (14) calendar days after receipt of the written grievance/appeal, the Chief of Employee Relations or his or her representative shall meet with the grievant/appellant. Within fourteen (14) calendar days thereafter, a written decision shall be given to the grievant/appellant. The decision of the Chief of Employee Relations in B., C. and D., above, shall be final and binding and shall not be referable to arbitration.

  • Types of Employment 11.1 Employment categories Employees under this agreement will be employed in one of the following categories:

  • Period of Employment The “Period of Employment” shall be a period of three (3) years commencing on the Employment Commencement Date and ending at the close of business on the third (3rd) anniversary of the Employment Commencement Date (the “Termination Date”); provided, however, that this Agreement shall be automatically renewed, and the Period of Employment shall be automatically extended for one (1) additional year on the Termination Date and each anniversary of the Termination Date thereafter, unless either party gives notice, in writing, at least thirty (30) days prior to the expiration of this Agreement and the Period of Employment (including any renewal thereof) of such party’s desire to terminate the Agreement or modify its terms. The term “Period of Employment” shall include any extension thereof pursuant to the preceding sentence. Provision of notice that the Period of Employment shall not be extended or further extended, as the case may be, shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement and shall not constitute “Constructive Termination” for purposes of this Agreement. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Period of Employment is subject to earlier termination as provided below in this Agreement.

  • Record of Employment At the conclusion of the appointment period, the University will provide a record of employment consisting of inclusive dates of appointment(s) and classification(s) if requested by the employee.

  • Statement of Employment An employer shall, in the event of termination of employment, provide upon request to the employee who has been terminated a written statement specifying the period of employment and the classification or type of work performed by the employee.

  • Employee Responsibilities 1. Employees are responsible for notifying their department of an absence prior to the commencement of their work shift or as soon thereafter as possible. Notification shall include the reason and possible duration of the absence.
