Child Adoption Leave. 14.6.1 The Board of Education may, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, grant an unpaid leave of absence to a unit member for the purpose of adopting a child. This leave request shall be accompanied by written verification of adoption and may be for up to two (2) weeks prior to receiving custody of the child if necessary to fulfill the requirement of the adoption.
14.6.2 The beginning and ending dates of this leave shall be established by the Board of Education based upon the recommendation of the Superintendent or designee after the written request has been received and reviewed. This leave may be granted for the remainder of the school year in which the child is adopted.
14.6.3 If the unit member elects to continue health and welfare benefits during this leave, he/she shall notify the Personnel Services Department not later than twenty (20) days prior to the commencement of leave and shall pay the full premium costs in advance.
14.6.4 If the unit member is eligible for parental bonding leave, the adoption leave under this paragraph shall run concurrently with the parental bonding leave to the extent paid leave is available.
Child Adoption Leave. A teacher adopting a child shall receive similar leave as maternity which shall commence upon the entry of an order by the Probate Court awarding custody to the adoptive parent. The above leave may be extended for additional years upon written application by the teacher with the approval of the Board.
Child Adoption Leave. Any unit member shall be entitled to ten (10) days of unpaid leave for processing the adoption of a child.
Child Adoption Leave. 9A The child adoption leave shall be granted to classified employees and shall be without pay. The College President and/or designee shall be notified of such request in sufficient time to make proper substitute arrangements. 9B The child adoption leave may begin at the date the employee takes custody of the child, or any time within one (1) week prior. 9C The leave shall terminate sixty (60) days after the employee has taken custody of the child. The employee may request an extension to the sixty-day (60-day) limit in cases of unusual circumstances, as verified in writing by a social worker, pediatrician, or other appropriate professional.

Child Adoption Leave. 14.14.1 The Board of Education may, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, xxxxx an unpaid leave of absence to a member of the bargaining unit for the purpose of adopting a child. This leave request shall be accompanied by verification of adoption and shall be granted up to no more than one (1) month prior to receiving custody of the child if necessary to fulfill the requirements of the adoption.
14.14.2 The beginning and ending dates of this leave shall be established by the Board of Education based upon the recommendation of the Superintendent or the Superintendent's designee after the written request has been received or reviewed.
14.14.3 The unpaid leave may be granted for the remainder of the year the child is adopted and the following school year.
14.14.4 If permitted under the terms of the contract between the District and the insurance company, the member shall have the option of remaining an active participant in the health insurance program during the child adoption leave by paying to the District the full premium required, in advance, at times mutually agreeable.
Child Adoption Leave. Ten (10) working days with full pay shall be granted to an employee for the purpose of child adoption if the child to be adopted has not reached his/her first (1st) birthday at the time physical custody is granted. If the child to be adopted is between ages one
(1) and six (6), five (5) working days with full pay shall be granted to an employee for the purpose of child adoption. To the degree this provision is inconsistent with 105 ILCS 5/24-6, the statute shall control.

This leave request shall be accompanied by verification of adoption and shall be granted up to no more than one (1) month prior to receiving custody of the child if necessary to fulfill the requirement of the adoption.
3.3.2 The beginning and ending dates of this leave shall be established by the Board of Education based upon the recommendation of the Superintendent or the Superintendent's designee after the written request has been received or reviewed. The unpaid leave may be granted for the remainder of the year the child is adopted, and the following school year.
3.3.2.1 If the unit member elects to continue benefits during the period of the leave, they must notify Human Resources not later than twenty (20) days prior to the commencing of the child adoption leave provided the unit member pays the full cost on a monthly basis in advance of the month due.
Child Adoption Leave. The District will grant teachers up to a total of twenty (20) days of child adoption leave. The first five (5) days will be paid and not deducted from sick leave; the remaining days will be deducted from available sick leave or unpaid, if sick leave is exhausted. Adoption leave may include, but is not limited to: pre-adoption consultation, legal counsel, legal proceedings, and naturalization proceedings.
