Competitive Class. Recall of a competitive class employee shall be in accordance with the Civil Service Law. A laid-off employee shall remain on a recall list for a period of four (4) years.
Competitive Class. In case of displacement in the competitive class at the College, provisions of Section 80, subdivision 5 of the Civil Service Law*, and Xxxxxxxx County Civil Service Rule XXV Lay Off of Competitive Class Employees in effect at the time will be followed.

Competitive Class. Vacancies in the competitive class shall be filled pursuant to Civil Service Law and Rules. Transfers or reassignments will be in accordance with Rule I of the Cortland County Civil Service Rules. Notice of each competitive job vacancy for which no mandated eligible list exists and/or when the last filing date for the next examination has passed will be posted on a designated bulletin board in the DOERC for a period of not less than five (5) days. Said posting(s) shall specify the position title, salary, and required minimum qualifications.
Competitive Class. All competitive class employees who are members of the bargaining unit shall be entitled to all rights granted under Sections 75 and 76 of the Civil Service Law, or to arbitration as hereinafter set forth in Section 27 (la), upon completion of six (6) months of satisfactory service in their positions. Trainee positions shall be granted the above referenced rights after 12 months of satisfactory service in their positions.
Competitive Class. Any reduction in work force resulting from the abolishment of positions shall be carried out in accordance with Sections 80 and 81 of the Civil Service Law, Rule XXVI of the Civil Service Rules, and procedures set forth by the New York State Department of Civil Service.
Competitive Class. In the event of suspension or demotion upon the abolition or reduction of positions, employees whose positions are classified within the competitive class of the classified service shall be processed in accordance with the New York State Civil Service Law.
Competitive Class. Layoffs and recall are governed by Civil Service Law and the Classified Rules of Civil Service. By law and regulation, seniority is measured by the date of original permanent appointment, without break in service, in the classified service (competitive, non- competitive, labor or exempt class).
