JOB VACANCY. When a regular job vacancy occurs, present employees shall be given consideration for filling the vacancy. The position shall be filled by the most qualified applicant.

JOB VACANCY. Before recruiting from outside sources to fill job vacancies or new jobs, it is the Employer's policy to "post" the new or vacant positions on the Staff Bulletin Board at any individual location. Employees who apply for the positions are interviewed and given preference over outside applicants if their qualifications and performance meet requirements. For positions of a specialized nature, a search for candidates from outside the company may take place simultaneously with the job posting. If there is any choice to be made between two employees who are otherwise relatively equal, the employee having the greater seniority shall receive the preference. Consistent with this policy, it is understood that in the event that either or both the present Distribution Centre operations were transferred to a new location during the term of this collective agreement, preference would be given to affected employees presently employed at other buildings should they wish to relocate. It is agreed that this letter of understanding shall form part of the collective agreement entered into between Zellers Inc. and the National Automobile, Aerospace, Transportation and General Workers Union of Canada (CAW/TCA-Canada) and its Local 1000 which document is in effect for the period commencing on June 1, 2009 and ending on May 31, 2012.

JOB VACANCY. 11.01 Job postings will be available on-line on the Company’s internal website, and, at the Company’s discretion, may also be posted on external websites used for that purpose. Such notice shall include the title and job duties of the position available, the skills required for the position, the closing date for submission of bids, and the work location of the position. Only those job vacancies which the Company has declared to be a job vacancy will be available for employee bids and applications from outside of the bargaining unit or outside of the Company. Notice will be posted one (1) week in advance of filling of vacancy.
JOB VACANCY. 17.01 Where a permanent vacancy occurs in a classification within the bargaining unit which the clinic decides to fill, or a new position within the bargaining unit is established by the Clinic, such vacancy shall be posted by the Clinic for a period of five (5) days excluding Saturday, Sunday and holidays. All applications must come from persons outside the posted classification except for those who are currently not full-time and wish to become full-time and such applications are to be made in writing within the posted period. Second and subsequent vacancies which arise as a result of a job posting do not have to be posted, and will be filled from persons within the bargaining unit considering the criteria for selection in Article 17.04. If no qualified candidates are available, the Employer may hire from outside.
JOB VACANCY. 11.01 Where the Employer determines that a vacancy or new position exists within the bargaining unit, or where a temporary vacancy arises as a result of the necessity to replace a Nurse on a leave of absence expected to be for twelve (12) weeks or longer, the Employer shall post a notice of vacancy or new position for a period of five (5) working days.

The Corporation will notify the Union in writing seven (7) working days prior to filling any staff changes or new classifications covered by the terms of this Agreement and post notice of the position in all departments covered by the Agreement. information: Such notice shall contain the following nature Of position; qualifications required, indicating knowledge, education and skills; shift; wage rate. The Corporation will within fifteen (15) working days of the position becoming vacant, subject to an extension of time by mutual agreement, post notice of the vacancy or notify the Union in writing that the vacancy will not be filled, and giving the reason for not filling the position. When promotions and transfers to higher paid jobs or jobs with equal pay come within the provisions of this Agreement, seniority shall govern providing the applicant has the necessary skill, ability and competence to perform the work required. When new classifications are created the Corporation will advise the Union in advance of the nature of the position and the proposed wage rate. Any change in wage rate shall be negotiated between the Corporation and the Union. In the event the successful applicant proves unsatisfactory to the Corporation during the trial period of up to twenty-five (25) actual days worked or such longer period as may be mutually agreed upon in writing, they shall be returned to their former position without loss of seniority. Any other employee promoted or transferred as a result of the re-arrangement of jobs shall be returned to their former position without loss of seniority. It is agreed that successful applicants of the job posting procedure will not be permitted to re-apply for a posted job for a period of six ( 6 ) months, unless prior written permission is received from the Commissioner of Personnel. clause will not restrict an employee in posting for a higher paid position. Job vacancies in the of under Appendix may be filled by the Corporation by either allowing current Temporary or Seasonal Employees to complete more than ten continuous months of service, thereby becoming Permanent Employees, or, by applying the above job posting procedure. JOB VACANCY. Section 1: Job Openings. Where an existing or a new job within the bargaining unit becomes vacant, and the City decides to refill or fill it, the City may elect to fill the vacancy by promotion, reassignment or transfer, or employment of a new hire.
JOB VACANCY. 24.1 Notice of a vacant position in a classification covered by this Agreement and for which an eligibility list doesn't exist, shall be posted for a period of five (5) working days on appropriate City bulletin boards and electronic devices (i.e., City’s official Internet website, City’s Intranet System, Telephone Job Line) for purpose of creating an eligibility list of applicants. If an employee is on approved leave during the entire posting period and has missed the opportunity to apply for the vacancy, then the employee may submit a bid to the Human Resources Division within three (3) working days after the closing period of the vacancy. Any like vacancy, which occurs within thirty (30) days following the posting may be filled from the eligibility list generated by the original classification vacancy posting. Some job vacancy announcements may be limited to specific Divisions or Sections based on the availability of qualified candidates within these respective work forces and the level of skills required by the position. Any employee who has completed his initial probationary period may apply in writing to the Human Resources Division for consideration before the closing date of the job announcement.
