Conferences, Workshops and Seminars a. Conferences, workshops, and seminars attended beyond work hours or on the employee’s own time may be considered for credit. District-sponsored in-service may be considered for credit only if wages have not been paid. b. One (1) credit will be granted for each accumulation of fifteen (15) hours of workshops, conferences or seminars. c. All conferences, workshops, and seminars must have prior approval and be submitted to the Professional Growth Committee with a justification statement by the immediate supervisor. d. All documents verifying completion of conference, workshop or seminar must be submitted.
Conferences, Workshops and Seminars. The documented participation in conferences, workshops, and seminars not offered by the College and related to College strategic initiatives or the faculty member’s regular disciplinary professional development may convert to PAUs as indicated below. The number of PAUs earned under this category shall not exceed ten (10) PAUs in any one reporting year and shall not exceed five (5) PAUs on any one subject. Time for travel and meals is excluded. Documentation of participation may include announcements, agendas, and/or certificates. The employee must indicate the number of hours of the activity to be counted for PAU credits. Conferences, workshops, and seminars shall be defined as eight (8) hours for each full day of attendance. Partial days shall be prorated accordingly. For example, one-half day attendance equals 4 hours.

The funds shall be made available in two (2) equal installments, paid on September 1 and February 1 of each school year. 9.3.1.1 A teacher may use funds to support costs incurred in professional development activities or for resources related to an individual professional growth plan, including but not limited to: courses, workshops or conferences, online courses, books, interschool visitation, collaboration or practical research or any other professional development activities which the teacher believes meet a professional growth need. This money may not be used for the purchase of teaching resources, electronic devices, or capital items. 9.3.1.2 Local #60 shall be responsible for establishing the guidelines for administration of the fund established by this Clause. 9.3.1.3 The amount to be allocated to this fund shall be: September 1, 2017: $297,250 9.3.1.4 The Clause shall apply to all members of the certified instructional staff, except the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Associate Superintendents, and Assistant Superintendents, and Director of Community Relations. 9.3.1.5 At the request of the School Division, an annual accounting of monies distributed through the fund shall be sent to the Superintendent.

Each staff member is encouraged to train himself/herself in skills that will increase his/her value to the County. Employees are encouraged to attend conferences, workshops or seminars in which the training is directly related to the employee's assigned duties or the training is required to maintain a professional license or registration. Requests for approval to attend educational conferences, workshops and seminars shall be made to the department in accordance with policies and guidelines developed by the department head. Employees shall be allowed time off with pay to attend approved conferences, workshops or seminars. Reimbursement for expenses are subject to budgetary allocations and the discretion of the department head.

  • Conferences and Meetings Attend meetings with Contractor, such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences and other project-related meetings, and prepare and circulate copies of minutes thereof.

When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences A. Unit member shall be available at mutually arranged times during the regular school day to confer with parents regarding learning difficulties, student progress and/or behavioral problems a student may be experiencing. Unit members are encouraged to arrange a meeting or conference with parents before or after the regular school day if both time and place are mutually agreeable. B. In the event that a bargaining unit member does not communicate with a parent on the established date for parent unit member conferences as per the calendar adopted by the Board, a reasonable attempt to contact that parent will be made. A reasonable attempt constitutes a phone call or email. If that contact is not returned, the bargaining unit member shall not be obligated to make further contact.

  • Conference Telephone Meetings Directors or members of any committee of the Board may participate in a meeting of the Board or such committee by means of conference telephone or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting can hear each other, and such participation in a meeting shall constitute presence in person at such meeting.

  • SPECIAL CONFERENCES Special conferences for important matters may be arranged between the Union and the designated representative of the Board upon the request of either party.

  • Liaisons Each party shall designate a representative to serve as its liaison in all matters arising under this Agreement, and shall furnish in writing the name of each representative to the other party.
