Workshops and Seminars. 1. Application for the alternative workshops and seminars method to earn units must be preapproved.
2. Applications must include the appropriate documentation, (e.g., course description, accreditation of institution, and instructor qualifications.
3. To qualify for salary advancement, workshops and seminars must be directly related to the faculty member’s professional assignment or be of direct benefit to the District, or meet a District need to improve student success. Workshops/Seminars must provide a certificate of completion or must be sponsored by an organization approved by the Salary Advancement Committee. The certificate of completion or other evidence of attendance and a description of the organization’s professional qualifications must be submitted to the Salary Advancement Committee and Associate Vice President of Human Resources.
4. The alternative workshops and seminars method to earn units must have a minimum of eighteen (18) hours of instruction for a specific topic or course to equal one (1) unit. Alternative workshop and seminar methods of earning credit having less than eighteen (18) hours may not be accumulated. It is recommended that for the shorter workshop and seminar alternative methods, the faculty member review the information for possible use as FLEX activity.
5. Only three (3) units of alternative method courses are applicable per salary advancement. Faculty in Career Technical Education (CTE) may petition to the Salary Advancement Committee to have more than three (3) units be alternative method units. The petition will follow the normal process for approval or disapproval.
Workshops and Seminars. It is the policy of Champaign County Head Start to encourage and support, within budget constraints, continuing training for its Employees through workshops and seminars. In those instances when the Employer provides notice to its Employees of upcoming events, such notice shall be provided to all Employees by posting notice of such training in a prominent place. This paragraph does not impose a duty of discovery on the Employer to learn of workshop and seminar opportunities.
Workshops and Seminars. The Employer, each contract year, shall permit the mechanic to attend, at the Employer's expense, any workshops and/or seminars that are required by state or local regulations, with continuity of regular wages during that period.
Workshops and Seminars. The district shall reimburse each teacher for the cost of registration fees for approved workshops and seminars, subject to the availability of funds.
B. The district shall pay the cost of registration, tuition, and other reasonable expenses incurred in connection with any courses, workshops, seminars, conferences, in-service training sessions, or other such sessions which a teacher is requested in writing by the administration to take when requests are made for reasons other than inadequate performance. The absence of such requests does not relieve professional employees of their obligation to remain knowledgeable about content and methods relative to their assignment.
C. In order to provide for equitable distribution of funds, money for reimbursement will be set aside when the Superintendent approves the courses to be taken. The School district will provide payment for approved courses when presented with a purchase order from the offering institution with the understanding that the teacher requesting this prepayment option, must also execute a salary reduction agreement at the time of the request for graduate course approval and provide evidence of a passing grade (B or better) within 30 days of the completion of the course either in the form of a transcript or letter on the school’s stationery. Failure to comply with these requirements will result in the implementation of the salary reduction agreement. In no case can this be later than June 10th so that accounts can be closed out for the fiscal year. If the teacher withdraws from the class, he/she must give notice to the District within 15 days. The teacher will be responsible for any money not recovered from the offering institution because of withdrawal. Money for course reimbursement, conferences and workshop registration are subject to the availability of funds, each semester, except for those enrolled in an approved degree program, on a first come first serve basis determined by the Superintendent.
Workshops and Seminars. Workshops/seminars may be scheduled periodically on teacher in-service days. Specific dates and topics will be selected as needed and as finances permit. The Custodial Employee Representatives will be consulted regarding topics of interest.

At the request of State Street, ABRA shall, subject to applicable laws and regulations, assist State Street in arranging for State Street to publicize such workshops and seminars as may be provided for in the Annual Marketing Plan. Workshops and Seminars. A. B. Probation: All newly hired personnel shall serve a one (1) year probationary period.
C. In cases of delayed openings and early dismissals, cafeteria employees will receive full pay for these days.
D. Cafeteria workers will be paid for emergency closings (if there was a scheduled work day).
E. The positions of "Cafeteria Leader" at the High School and Intermediate School will work a seven (7) hour day. The High School Cafeteria Leader will receive a $400.00 stipend over and above his/her regular pay each year. Cafeteria Leader at Wall Intermediate School (if a need for the position is presented to the Board by the Food Service Director) will receive a $400.00 annual stipend.
F. The Cafeteria employee who is designated as the "truck driver'' will receive a $400.00 stipend over and above his/her regular pay, each year, starting with the 2003-2004 school year. If the job is split between employees, the stipend will be split accordingly.
Workshops and Seminars. Employees who attend workshops or seminars at the Employer's request shall be paid for their travel time and time spent at the workshop or seminar at their regular rate of pay. However, workshop and seminar hours and travel time shall be deemed not to be hours of work as described in Article 18.01 and are not counted in determining hours of work in a day or week to result in the payment of overtime rates.
