Courtesy Pay. In accordance with our commitment to provide valued service and benefits, we may, if you qualify, at our discretion, pay overdrafts that would cause your eligible checking account to have a negative balance up to the amount of your limit, which is determined by us in our sole and absolute discretion. Courtesy Pay is different than the Overdraft Transfer Service. Courtesy Pay is a backup to the Overdraft Transfer Service and will only be activated if funds are not available from the Overdraft Transfer Service.

Courtesy Pay. Courtesy Pay is offered as a courtesy to our members who qualify for this service. Do not rely on Courtesy Pay to pay your items. Courtesy Pay is intended only as a courtesy in the event you accidentally overdraw your account. Courtesy Pay is a standard overdraft practice, included on your Checking Account for checks, recurring debit card transactions, ACH transactions and automatic bill payments made using your Checking Account number, unless you ask us to not use Courtesy Pay for your account for these types of transactions. Courtesy Pay is not offered on Second Chance Checking or to minors. Since we charge a fee, regulations require you to “opt in” for our Optional Courtesy Pay service if you want us to pay your one-time (everyday) debit card transactions and ATM transactions. An “opt in” or “opt out” decision by the member or any joint owner will be treated as binding for all owners on an account. An “opt in” or “opt out” decision is required for each individual checking account. Your ability to “opt in” may be limited or restricted to prevent structured or intended abuse of the program. The amount of the Courtesy Pay fee is set forth in the Truth in Savings Fee Schedule (TIS Fee Schedule). Courtesy Pay can be revoked at our sole and absolute discretion. There are also overdraft protection plans (a link to a 1CFCU Savings, Club (except Christmas club), or a link to a 1CFCU Line of Credit (you must apply and qualify for this account). There are no fees per transfer for the first 6 Regulation D transfers from your available Savings and Club accounts. Subsequent transfers subject to Regulation D from a savings or club account will be charged a fee in accordance with our TIS Fee schedule. See Savings, Club and Money Market AccountLimitation on Preauthorized Transfers. You may link one or more of these overdraft protection accounts to your checking account for overdraft protection. In the event these overdraft protection plans are utilized, we will use our best efforts to transfer available funds from the eligible Savings or Club Account to your Checking Account, or to make an advance of funds under the eligible 1st Cash Line of Credit Agreement to your Checking Account, to remedy the overdraft. Our Courtesy Pay service may be available when no overdraft protection plan is available. Courtesy Pay. Unless you have applied for and received an overdraft line of credit, we do not have to pay your overdrafts. However, if you do not have an overdraft line of credit, or do not want us to overdraw our account under any circumstances even as a courtesy to clear an item that you have written, you must tell us not to do so. You understand that is may be a crime to write a check you know will not be paid. If your account receives a monthly direct deposit benefit check, such as Social Security or VA Disability, from the United States government and you do not want us to use funds in that account to pay an overdraft, you must tell us. If you do not tell us, you consent to allowing us to apply those funds to repay your overdrafts. Our Fee Schedule states the fee charged for paying your overdrafts.

Courtesy Pay. (a discretionary overdraft service) From time to time, members experience non-sufficient funds situations on their accounts. Courtesy Pay is not a loan, which means that the Credit Union does not engage in credit underwriting as a basis of determining your eligibility as part of this service. As a courtesy, the Credit Union offers an additional overdraft service known as Courtesy Pay. We are not obligated to pay any item presented for payment if your account does not have sufficient collected funds. Rather than automatically returning, unpaid, any non-sufficient funds that you may have, if your eligible checking account (primarily used for personal, family and household purposes) has been open for at least ninety (90) days and you maintain your account in good standing, which includes at least: (1) continuing to make deposits consistent with your past practices and (2) you are not in default on any loan obligation to the Credit Union, (3) you bring your account to a positive balance (not overdrawn) at least once every fifteen (15) days, and (4) your account is not subject to any legal or administrative order or levy, we will consider without obligation on our part, approving your reasonable overdrafts. Our customary fees and charges, including without limitation our insufficient funds/overdraft fees as set forth in our current Rate and Fee Schedules, will be included in these limits and will be charged for each non-sufficient (NSF) item that will or would overdraft your account including but not limited to, checks, debit drafts (paper), ACH debits, xxxx payment debits, authorized POS (point of sale) purchases and Credit Union teller cashed checks. We may refuse to pay an overdraft for you at any time, even though your account is in good standing and even though we may have previously paid overdrafts for you. You may be notified of any non-sufficient funds items paid or returned that you may have; however, we may have no obligation to notify you before we pay or return any item. The amount of any overdrafts plus our insufficient funds/overdraft fees that you owe us shall be due and payable upon demand. If there is an overdraft paid by us on an amount more than one (1) owner of the signature card, each joint owner, and agent if applicable, drawing/presenting the item creating the overdraft, shall be jointly liable for such overdrafts plus our insufficient funds/overdraft fees. Courtesy Pay. We are not obligated to pay any item presented for payment if your account does not contain sufficient available funds, and any payment by us of any non-sufficient funds check or preauthorized transaction processed through the Automated Clearing House network is at our discretion and does not obligate us to pay any additional non-sufficient fund item or to give advance notice of our decision to refuse to pay a similar item. The way we determine the dollar limit that is applied to Your Courtesy Pay Overdraft Service is via an automated system that performs a continual evaluation of all Your accounts to determine an overdraft limit based on algorithms, or a set of rules, that weigh numerous factors and account behaviors including a member’s account usage patterns or relationship with us to assess Your ability to repay an overdrawn balance. Per this dynamic, automated system: • Your overdraft limit may change as frequently as daily. • Your overdraft limit may be reduced to $0.00.
Courtesy Pay. If your checking account has been open and active for at least thirty (30) days, and if the account is maintained in good standing, which includes the following: 1) Making regular deposits; 2) Depositing an amount equal to the amount of discretionary courtesy overdraft extended to you or more in your account within each thirty (30) day period and bringing your account balance to a positive balance within every thirty-five (35) day period; 3) You are not past due on any loan or other obligation to First Basin Credit Union; and 4) You are not subject to any legal or administrative order or levy; the account will be eligible for the Courtesy Pay overdraft privilege. We may refuse to pay an overdraft at any time, even though your account is in good standing and even though we may have paid overdrafts before. You will not be notified by mail of any non-sufficient funds items paid or returned that you may have. The amount of any overdrafts plus the Courtesy Pay fee that you owe us shall be due and payable upon demand. If there is an overdraft paid by us on an account with more than one owner, all shall be jointly and severally liable for such overdrafts plus any Courtesy Pay fees. An overdraft fee may be imposed for overdrafts created by checks, in- person withdrawals, ATM withdrawals, or by other electronic means, as applicable.
