Credit for Sick Leave during Vacation. When sickness lasting one or more consecutive working days occurs during a vacation, the period of sickness shall, upon submittal of a licensed physician's certificate or other satisfactory proof of such sickness as deemed necessary by the department head, be charged as sick leave, and the charge against vacation allowance shall be reduced accordingly. Application for such substitution of sick leave for vacation shall be made within five (5) working days upon return to work.
