Work During Vacation Period. No employee shall be required to work during the employee's vacation once the vacation request has been approved.
Work During Vacation Period. Any employee who is required to return from vacation and does work during his/her vacation period shall be paid for regular hours at a rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) his/her regular rate. In addition, the employee’s vacation (with pay) shall be rescheduled to any future period the employee may request. Any employee may return to work at the request of the Employer and be paid at his/her regular rate, but shall have the option to refuse without any threat of discrimination.

It is entered into for the sole purpose of defining training, training schedules and appropriate documentation and evaluation of medical designees. As part of the 2018-2020 AFSCME contract agreement, SPPS and AFSCME agreed that the District and the Union will meet through the LMC process in conjunction with the Student Health and Wellness Supervisor and Environmental Service Manager to coordinate training needs, a training and refresher schedules, documentation, and evaluation process for medical designee competency. Both parties agree to participate in an interest based process, with a third-party mediator to assist in this process. This meeting will convene on a non-student contact day at a mutually determined time by the third-party mediator after contract ratification. In the event that a member of this bargaining unit provides health services, and except in cases of malfeasance in office or willful or wanton neglect of duty, the Employer shall defend, save harmless, and indemnify employee against tort claim or demand, whether groundless or otherwise, arising out of alleged acts or omission occurring in the performance or scope of the employee’s duties. Work During Vacation Period. Any employee who is requested to and does work during his/her scheduled vacation period shall be paid for regular hours at their regular rate. In addition, the employee's vacation may be rescheduled to any future period the employee may request, within the remaining months of the employee's anniversary year, provided that this request will not duly interfere with the needs of the Employer. S ection 9.06. Vacation in Case of Separation Any employee who is laid off, retires or is otherwise separated from the service of the Employer for any reason shall receive vacation pay for all unused vacation accrued prior to said separation. Payment for unused vacation shall be calculated based upon the employee's regular, straight-time, hourly rate of pay in effect on the date of separation.
Work During Vacation Period. Any nurse who is called into work while on vacation leave shall be paid for all hours worked during that vacation period at the rate of time and one-half (l-½) the nurse's rate of pay. Provided, that no nurse shall be required to come into work while on vacation leave.

Any employee who, because of an emergency situation, is requested to and does work his vacation period shall be paid for all regular hours at time and one-half his regular rate of pay for all hours worked. After consultation with Management, the employee will be allowed to take his vacation time lost during the emergency at a later date. To avoid requiring an employee to work during his scheduled vacation period, the Employer may transfer for the vacation period an employee in the same classification from within another department or division to perform the required work.
