DEFINITION OF EMERGENCY. For the purpose of administering the provisions of this MOU, an emergency shall be defined as an occurrence, situation, or condition which could not have been reasonably foreseen or anticipated.
DEFINITION OF EMERGENCY. For purposes of this Article, emergency is defined as an unforeseen circumstance requiring immediate action, a sudden unexpected happening, or an unforeseen occurrence or condition, or a pressing necessity.

An emergency shall be considered to exist when declared by the Employer, for the county, area or facility where an employee lives or works. Essential employees shall be required to work during emergencies. Essential employees who do not report as required during an emergency must show cause that they were prevented from reporting because of the emergency.
DEFINITION OF EMERGENCY. For the purpose of administering the provisions of this MOU, an emergency shall be defined in accordance with LAAC Section 8.22, as any occurrence which by reason of its magnitude is or is likely to become beyond the control of the normal services, personnel, equipment and facilities of the regularly constituted branches and departments of the City government, or any emergency declared by the Mayor per Charter Section 231(i).

Emergency work is defined as any and all work that will interfere with activities on or in the premises such as offices, stores, markets, taverns, etc., or work in which it is proved to the satisfaction of the District Council or its authorized representatives that there is a time factor involved and/or the delay is due to conditions beyond the control of the contractor.
