Definition of Personal Leave. Personal carer’s leave is defined in accordance with Section 244 of the Act and includes paid sick leave (accrued under the AFPCS) and paid or unpaid carer’s leave (accrued under the AFPCS).

Definition of Personal Leave. Personal leave is an absence from work for which the employee is paid just as if he/she was at work. Personal Leave is provided primarily to provide income protection for the employee whose personal illness or incapacity is such that they are not able to work, but they have not yet met the required waiting period to qualify for the Short Term Disability plan. Personal Leave may also be used for, but is not limited to, personal business, vacation, care of ill family members and medical or dental examinations and treatment.
