Purpose of Personal Leave. Employees other than casual employees are entitled to paid personal leave for absences from work due to – i) Personal illness or injury (personal leave); or ii) Caring for an immediate family member, or a member of the employee’s household, who is ill or injured, or due to an unexpected emergency affecting the member and that person requires the employee’s care and support (xxxxx’s leave).

Purpose of Personal Leave. The purpose of personal leave is to provide employees with flexible paid time off from work that can be used for such needs as vacation, doctor/ medical appointments, volunteerism, and other activities of the employee's choice. The goal of this policy is to create more flexibility for employees, improve work/ life harmony, reduce unscheduled absences and the need for supervisory oversight, and provide incentives for employees with good attendance. Although this is the intention of increasing the number of personal days, we anticipate that most employees will use the sick leave cash out policy as an opportunity for additional earnings over time.
Purpose of Personal Leave. Personal leave is for the purpose of providing income for full and part time employees unable to attend work through any injury or illness of themselves or a member(s) of their immediate family/household.
Purpose of Personal Leave. ‌ Paid personal leave is available to the employee when s/he is absent: 11.1.1 due to personal illness or injury (sick leave); or 11.1.2 for the purposes of caring for an immediate family or household member who is sick and requires the employee's care and support (carer's leave); or 11.1.3 because of bereavement on the death of an immediate family or household member (See “Compassionate leave”).
Purpose of Personal Leave. The Registrar recognises that an employee may need time away from work due to illness or injury, to care for an ill or injured family member, or for unplanned, unforeseeable and unavoidable emergency situations. The Registrar may grant personal leave for circumstances that include but are not limited to: • where the employee is unfit for duty due to illness or injury • where an employee needs to care for members of their family or household who are ill or injured and for whom the employee has caring responsibility • to allow an employee to deal with an emergency (e.g. urgent home repairs), or • in conjunction with compassionate leave where appropriate.

Nothing in this section shall be construed as giving more than three (3) personal days (to employees hired after September 1, 2011) in a given year, or more than five (5) personal days (to employees on the payroll as of September 1, 2011) in a given year. Any employee who has used one or more days leave while employed in state service shall have such time deducted from the formula contained herein

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible.
