Department Head Review. Within ten (10) days upon receipt of the written grievance, the Department Head shall meet with the employee or designated representative. The Department Head shall deliver an answer to the employee or designated representative within ten (10) days of the meeting.
Department Head Review. The department head or designee will review the justification submitted by the employee and complete their section of the job audit request form to ensure the information provided is accurate and up to date. A copy of the comments will be provided to the employee. The department head will forward the job audit request form to the Human Resources Manager within thirty days of receipt from the employee.

If a grievance is not settled at Step 2 of this procedure, the grievance may be appealed to the department head in writing within ten (10) working days from the receipt of the decision of the immediate supervisor or his/her failure to respond to the grievance. Said grievance appeal must specifically set forth the reason the answer previously provided by the supervisor is not satisfactory. In submitting the grievance to Step 3, the grievant or MCRNA may request a meeting with the department head. If requested at the time of filing with the department head, a meeting will be held within seven (7) working days of the receipt of the appeal. The department head shall deliver his/her written decision to the grievant and/or his/her representative within three (3) working days of the date of the grievance meeting, if a meeting was held, or within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the appeal if no meeting was held. The department head's decision shall include the reasons on which the decision is based and the remedy or correction which has been offered, if any, to the grievant.

If the grievance is not resolved by the written decision of the supervisor, the employee may request in writing within seven (7) working days after delivery of prior written decision that the grievance be reviewed by the department head. If such a request is received, the department head or his/her designee shall conduct such meeting(s) with the employee, informal hearings or investigations as are appropriate in his/her judgment and deliver to the employee a written decision within seven (7) working days after receipt of the review request.

Should the grievant not be satisfied with the answer received from grievant’s immediate supervisor or designee, the grievant may within fourteen (14) calendar days file an appeal to the department head or designee. The department head or designee shall have twenty-one (21) calendar days after receipt of the appeal to review the matter, investigate, and provide a written answer to the appeal explaining clearly the decision or proposed action and reasons thereof. The department head or designee may confer with the grievant and appropriate supervisors in an attempt to bring about a mutually acceptable solution. Step Three - Mediation/GAC/Binding Arbitration
Department Head Review. Within ten (10) business days or thirty (30) calendar days after the employee(s) could have reasonably been aware of the occurrence, whichever occurs earlier, the employee(s) or the Union may submit a written grievance to the department head. If the grievance is not filed within the time frames above the grievance shall be considered invalid. The written grievance will contain the following:
Department Head Review. If the grievance is not appealed to the Department Head within the above thirty (30) workday period, it shall constitute an abandonment of the grievance. The Union may present an alleged grievance on behalf of an employee or employees directly to Step 2 if the issue involves more than one (1) immediate supervisor.
