Educational Allowance. 25.1: Both parties to this Agreement believe that it is for the public good to encourage secondary education in those instances where the courses taken for secondary education are of benefit to the police officer in the performance of his or her duties and to this end the parties agree that the Chief of Police, the Local Association President and a person to be mutually chosen by the Local Association and Chief of Police shall determine what secondary educational hours shall be allowed as credit to an officer in determining whether or not an educational allowance shall be granted.
