Emergency School Closure Days. When emergency conditions exist (such as fire, water contamination, inclement weather, power shutoff days, pandemics, or other unforeseeable events), the Superintendent shall have the discretion to issue an Emergency School Closure (ESC) day. An ESC day, or partial day, shall close the District from student attendance. The following procedures will govern the classified service on days designated by the District as ESC days.

Emergency School Closure Days. In the event of an emergency school closure, including but not limited to snow days, natural disaster, quarantine, power shut-off days, or government order (beyond calendared Emergency School Closure days), the District shall seek a J-13 waiver for the days missed during the period(s) of emergency. Unit members shall receive their daily rate of pay and benefits during emergency school closure days. If instructional make-days are required by law, the board will calendar the make-up student days to commence immediately following the last day of the school year. Unit members will be required to work instructional make-up days.

  • Emergency School Closing 24.1 If as determined by the Superintendent, circumstances of weather, energy crisis, power failure, lack of water or heat, work stoppage, epidemic or other civil or natural emergencies, including threats or acts of violence, make it impossible or unsafe to open the schools or to keep open a school or schools, then the Superintendent shall act in such emergency situations to preserve and protect the lives and property of pupils and staff personnel. Such absence(s) shall not result in loss of pay or accumulated leave days to the teacher.

  • Emergency Closures A. The University’s inability to make a Room available to me for any reason beyond the University’s control including, but not limited to, natural disaster, fire, flood, earthquake, condemnation, pandemic, quarantine, utility malfunction, infestation, or other emergency or force majeure event shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement by the University. In such circumstances, the University shall have no liability to me in any way for injuries, reimbursement, damages, inconvenience, annoyance or compensation of any kind. The University may attempt to find, but cannot guarantee, an alternative space for me. If the unavailability of my Room or an alternative space persists for more than 72 hours, I may terminate this Agreement and Check out during said unavailability without penalty provided that I shall be responsible for all financial obligations incurred up to the date of such termination. The University agrees to provide me with a pro rata refund, calculated from the date of such termination to the end of the Agreement Period, of any prepaid housing and dining payment made to the University, and to return my Deposit pursuant to this Agreement. Upon resumption of standard operations, Agreement Termination requirements and charges will apply as described in Section XIV.

  • Emergency Days Up to two (2) emergency days during a school year for uncontrollable emergency situations, subject to the written approval of the Superintendent or his/her designee.
