Emergency School Closure. Sec
19.1 Temporary school closure may be forced by emergency conditions such as, but not limited to, inclement weather conditions, fire, flood, explosion, failure of heating plant, water supply, electrical service, sewer service, lack of essential energy supply for building use, inability to transport students to and from school, Act of God, or declaration of a state, regional emergency or national emergency, or an emergency declared by the District. The Superintendent or his designee will declare closure.
Emergency School Closure. The District will make a reasonable effort to notify employees as early as possible when schools will be closed or the opening of school will be delayed. Should delayed starts be later changed to closure and employees arrive on site, employees shall receive a minimum of one hour per diem. When schools are closed early due to inclement weather, employees in the bargaining unit shall be permitted to leave immediately after all students are dismissed. Following cancellation notification, if employees are required by administration to remain on site to supervise students, they will be paid at per diem. In the event that the District administration decides to delay the opening of school due to inclement weather, employees shall report thirty (30) minutes before the students arrive.
Emergency School Closure. Emergency school closure will be at the discretion of the Director when it is determined that the health, safety and welfare of the children is compromised due to the following conditions: Loss of power, heat, telephone, inclement weather conditions, pandemic or disaster. Tuition refunds will not be granted for less than two (2) consecutive weeks of school closure. The Preschool Board if necessary, will consider refunds. If a school closure should happen, the tuition paid will roll over to future tuition due for the return of school. Accounts will be adjusted on ProCare to prorate the actual classroom tuition used. Classes will go to an online format and information will follow. Your prepaid tuition will offset the costs associated with having an online format such as teacher salaries and sanitation. No tuition refunds will be offered for COVID related school closures.
Emergency School Closure. 3 If school is closed on an emergency basis, other than a work stoppage, the District will 4 make all reasonable efforts to get a waiver during the current school year from the state so 5 the time does not have to be made up for state funding. In the event it is not possible to get
6 a waiver, and it is necessary to make up the time as an express condition to get state 7 funding, then the bargaining unit will make up the minimum time and/or days necessary for 8 state funding. In such a case, the time necessary will be mutually rescheduled by the 9 District and the Association.
Emergency School Closure. Each building staff in cooperation with their building administrator(s) will establish a building procedure governing conditions arising from early release days caused by inclement weather and/or emergencies. Adequate student supervision by certificated staff must be provided until all students have safely left the campus.
Emergency School Closure. Makeup day for emergency school closure shall be mutually agreed upon by the Superintendent and the Association.
Emergency School Closure. The District shall notify public media by 6:00 a.m. if possible. Every reasonable attempt will be made to start the phone tree prior to that time if the start of school is to be adversely affected by weather conditions or an act of God. If school is delayed or cancelled without such notification, employees who have come to school may use the day as a workday, and be compensated at per diem for up to 7.5 hours. In the event the District applies to the State for an emergency closure waiver and student days are waived, employees shall make up those days on an individual basis by July 1st. This work shall be reported on a District work verification form. In the event a waiver is not granted, the cancelled day(s) shall be rescheduled by mutual consent of the Association and the District.
Emergency School Closure. In the event the District temporarily closes one or more schools for one or more days of the contract year, the affected employees will be granted leave at no deduction in salary or benefits, provided that students are not required to make up the day(s).
Emergency School Closure. The Association agrees that the District may alter the work year to meet emergency circumstances provided, however, that the total number of workdays for summer school will not exceed the total number of days originally scheduled for summer school.
Emergency School Closure. 1. On scheduled teacher days or student contact days where inclement weather or any other reason that causes the District to close, teachers will not work. Such time not worked will be without loss of pay. However, the District will, at its discretion, require that the same amount of time so lost be made up at some later time in the contract year without payment of additional compensation.
2. On teacher contract days or student contact days where inclement weather or any other reason that causes a delayed start to the teacher/student contact day, teachers are required to be at work at the delayed start time. If school closure is indefinite for any reason, pay and benefits may be suspended until school resumes in alternative facilities or when school reopens after repairs are completed. Teachers will then be paid for the days actually worked once operations resume.
