The Employment Elsewhere clause restricts or regulates an individual's ability to take up additional employment while under contract with a primary employer. Typically, this clause requires the employee to seek prior approval before accepting another job, or it may outright prohibit secondary employment that could create conflicts of interest or interfere with the employee's primary duties. Its core function is to ensure the employee's loyalty and focus remain with the primary employer, preventing divided attention or potential misuse of confidential information.
Employment Elsewhere. A leave of absence will not be granted to enable a Faculty member to apply for or accept employment elsewhere or for self-employment, unless the Faculty member has received advance written permission from the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. Any Faculty member who engages in employment elsewhere (including self-employment) while on any leave of absence without having received the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇’▇ prior written approval may be terminated by the Board. Remuneration while on sabbatical is subject to Section 15.03 of this Article.

The teacher is free to accept employment elsewhere after the expiration of his/her contract with the Board, or if a tenured teacher, in accordance with the School Code. An application placed with another prospective employer shall not in any way prejudice the teacher's status in his/her present position, it being specifically understood, however, that a teacher in this District shall honor his/her contract unless terminated in accordance with the School Code.
