Application and Approval. (a) 1. An employee shall make written application to her Employer on or before January 31st of the year in which the deferment is to commence, requesting permission to participate in the Plan.

Applications to the Fund shall be reviewed by the Professional Development Committee (“Committee”) provided for in Article 10.02 and Appendix A of the local portion of the Collective Agreement between the parties. Applications to the fund require the written “approval in principle” of the applicant’s Xxxx or Director. The Committee will evaluate each application and the committee’s recommendations for acceptance shall go to the appropriate Vice President or designate. The appropriate Vice President or designate will consider the recommendations of the Committee and shall be responsible for the final approval of all applications. Where the Vice President or designate does not agree with a recommendation of the Committee, he/she shall provide reasons in writing to the applicant(s) and the Committee.

Likewise, approval of a non-Member as a Servicer is at the MPF Provider’s sole discretion based on the MPF Provider’s business judgment of the applicant’s qualifications. At minimum, to be considered for approval as a PFI or a Servicer, an applicant must meet the following requirements: • Have as its principal business purpose, the origination, purchasing, selling, and/or servicing of residential mortgages of the type the PFI or Servicer intends to sell into and/or service for the MPF Program; • Have demonstrated the ability to originate, purchase, sell, and/or service the types of mortgages for which approval is being requested; • Have adequate facilities and staff experienced in originating, selling, and/or servicing the types of mortgages for which approval is being requested; • Be duly organized, validly existing, in possession of all proper licenses, registrations, permits, approvals, and qualifications, be in good standing, or otherwise be authorized to conduct business in each of the jurisdictions in which it originates, sells, and services residential mortgages; • Have internal audit and management control systems to evaluate and monitor the overall quality of its loan production and servicing; 18 MPF Announcement 2017-13 (3/28/17) • Have written procedures for the approval and management of vendors and other third-party service providers; • Have a fidelity bond and an errors and omissions policy in effect and agree to modify them as necessary to meet the MPF Program requirements; • Satisfy any additional eligibility criteria the MPF Bank or MPF Provider requires; • If a member of an MPF Bank, be a member in good standing of the MPF Bank; and • Meet the eligibility requirements of the Applicable Agreement and the Guides. Application and Approval. 1. No later than December 1st of each school year prior to the date of the requested leave, the employee shall submit to the Executive Director a written proposal outlining the duration and purpose for which the sabbatical leave is sought. In unusual circumstances the deadline may be waived. Sabbatical leave is not to exceed one (1) fiscal year from when it starts.
2. The Executive Director will bring his/her recommendation as to whether or not the sabbatical should be granted to the School Board at their February Board Meeting. It is at that meeting that a presentation will be made regarding the requested sabbatical. The Executive Director will forward the employee a written statement of approval or disapproval of the leave, with reasons for the decision, no later than March 1st.

(c) Approval of individual requests to participate in the Plan shall rest solely with the Employer.
(d) All Employees wishing to participate in the Plan shall be required to sign a contract before final approval for participation shall be granted.

(c) The number of leaves granted for any one year shall not exceed two percent (2%) of the number of teachers employed by the Board.
(d) Approval of individual requests to participate in the Plan shall rest solely with the Board.

Written acceptance, or denial, of the teacher's request, with explanation, will be forwarded to the teacher by May 1st in the school year the original request is made. The number of leaves granted to take effect in any given year may be restricted by program requirements at the school or system level. Application and Approval. An application on the District form must be filed with the Human Resources Department in advance. This application must be signed by the school Principal and the Department Head in the area of teaching. The purpose of these signatures is to indicate that the unit member discussed the unit member’s plans with these individuals. The signatures do not constitute approval or disapproval. After consideration by the Deputy Superintendent Human Resources and Student Services, the applicant will be notified, in writing, of approval or denial of the request.
