Fillers. Delete the second last sentence of the first paragraph and replace with: “With the exception of stone mastic asphalt, in no instance shall more than 2% by mass of active filler be used in the mixes” B4203 COMPOSITION OF ASPHALT BASE AND SURFACING MIXTURES Mix design approvals shall be finalised and approved between the Contractor and the Service manager before commencement of the works. The Contractor shall submit proposed mixes, on request, to approved or instructed test laboratories for performance property assessment on the Commencement Date to enable adequate testing time. The programmed mix design period shall be at least five weeks in duration measured from the Commencement Date. In addition the Service Manager reserves a minimum of two weeks within that period for assessment and approval of the mix designs, measured from the date of submission of the last mix design. No additional costs shall be payable for the testing of the specified criteria and shall be deemed to be included within the tendered rates.   • Welding Welding and use of cutting torches or cutoff saws will be permitted only in areas that have been cleared or are free of all material capable of carrying fire. Flammable debris and vegetation must be removed from within a minimum 10-foot radius of all welding and cutting operations. A shovel and a 5-gallon standard backpack water container filled and with handpump attached shall be immediately available for use in the event of a fire start. C8.212 – MARKET-RELATED CONTRACT TERM ADDITION (11/08). The term of this contract may be adjusted when a drastic reduction in wood product prices has occurred in accordance with 36 CFR 223.52. The Producer Price Index used to determine when a drastic reduction in price has occurred is stated in A20. Purchaser will be notified whenever the Chief determines that a drastic reduction in wood product prices has occurred.   • Firefighters Any truck with an inoperative aerial ladder shall be regularly and routinely staffed with one (1) officer and five (5) firefighters for the period of time that the aerial ladder is inoperative, or until such time as the truck with the inoperative aerial ladder is replaced with a truck with an operative aerial ladder. At 0800 and 2000 hours, all trucks shall be staffed with one (1) officer and four (4) firefighters, and any truck with an inoperative aerial ladder shall be staffed with one (1) officer and five (5) firefighters.
