Filling Bargaining Unit Positions. Section 6. Filling vacancies in bargaining unit positions: When a vacancy occurs in a bargaining unit position, the Director of the department overseeing the vacant position or designee) shall decide whether to recruit internally (within the bargaining unit), externally (outside the bargaining unit and/or the department), or both. Nothing in this section requires any position to be filled.

Filling Bargaining Unit Positions. Section 1 This Article pertains to filling Bargaining Unit positions within OASCR. [References include but are not limited to DR 0000-000-000] It is OASCR policy to: (a) recruit qualified, diverse individuals to ensure bringing the best candidates to the attention of management; (b) give employees an opportunity to receive fair, equitable, and appropriate consideration for higher level jobs; (c) provide an incentive for employees to improve their performance and develop their knowledge, skills, and abilities; and (d) provide career opportunities for employees. The Agency, when it intends to fill vacant Bargaining Unit positions, will give written notification to the Union a minimum of five (5) workdays in advance of the intended release of the vacancy announcement, which shall contain: (a) opening and closing date; (b) area of consideration (e.g., agency-wide, all sources); (c) title/grade/series; (d) geographic location; (e) summary of duties; and (f) promotion potential.
Filling Bargaining Unit Positions. Bargaining Unit vacancies and positions will be filled by recalling those seniority Employees laid off from the affected classification first. Thereafter, Bargaining Unit vacancies and positions will be filled by the most senior qualified volunteer(s) through job posting. Probationary Employees are not eligible to apply for posted positions. If not filled by a Bargaining Unit volunteer, the most senior qualified, laid-off Employees of other classifications will be offered the position. If the position is not filled by a current Bargaining Unit Employee or a laid-off Employee the position can be filled through outside recruitment.

  • Non-Bargaining Unit Personnel It is understood and agreed that there are times when non-bargaining unit employees may be required to perform work customarily performed by bargaining unit employees. It is also understood that Supervisors and others will be required to work with tools only to meet requirements under the conditions listed below. Therefore, the Company shall have the right to utilize non-bargaining unit employees under one or more of the following conditions:

  • Bargaining Unit Work 255. The City agrees that it will not assign work currently performed by employees under this Agreement to City employees in other bargaining units.

  • Bargaining Unit Seniority The length of continuous service in a position or succession of positions within Bargaining Unit Two (2), beginning with the last date of hire or transfer into the Bargaining Unit, as defined by seniority credits.

  • Bargaining Unit Members hired before July 1, 1995 Those Bargaining Unit Members whose current regular assigned work shift ends after 5:00 p.m. or commences before 7:30 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m. and who are currently receiving a shift differential pay of five percent (5%) for time worked after 5:00 p.m. or before 7:30 a.m. shall continue to receive said differential.

  • Bargaining Unit The term "bargaining unit" as used in this Agreement refers to the bargaining unit defined in Article 1, Recognition.
