FIRE STAFF ASSIGNMENTS. Fire Staff Assignments consisting of a forty (40) hour work week are appointed by the Fire Chief from the rank of Firefighter, Fire Engineer, or Fire Captain. Each appointment lasts for a period of two (2) years. An appointment may be renewed every two (2) years upon the mutual agreement between the Fire Chief and the appointed Firefighter, Fire Engineer, or Fire Captain. If it becomes necessary, a mandatory assignment may be made by the Fire Chief to a Captain with the lowest Department seniority with the rank of Captain. A mandatory assignment shall last two (2) years.

A mandatory assignment shall last two (2) years. Effective December 1, 2017, employees appointed to Fire Staff Assignments shall receive 16.22% in premium pay. EMT pay shall be received if the appointed employee currently has and maintains the certification. If the appointed employee is a paramedic, and filling a paramedic position as designated by the Fire Chief, the paramedic differential will apply provided the appointed employee maintains their paramedic certification. The paramedic will also receive the $500 every two (2) years for the continuance of the paramedic certification if it is maintained. Employees assigned to the Special Operations Division are eligible for hazardous materials compensation, provided that they meet the qualifications of the hazardous materials special compensation. A temporary Fire Staff Assignment may be made to fulfill specific tasks and will have short-term durations. In this instance, all applicable pay differentials shall remain in place. The appointed employee agrees to be available for recall to emergencies. Overtime shall be paid when responding to an emergency while off duty.

  • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • Summer Assignments Employees who worked less than a 12-month schedule at the 10 time of their work-related accident will not be guaranteed summer employment while 11 participating in the Alternate Duty Program.

  • Work Assignments Section 1. The Company shall determine whether to staff a position or fill a vacancy and the method or combination of methods it shall use for such purposes. In making this determination, the Company shall first give consideration to qualified laid off employees with applications on file in accordance with Article 14 Section 7 of this Agreement and then internal candidates prior to off-street applicants. All vacancies within the Bargaining Unit shall be posted (manually or electronically) in locations where Bargaining Unit employees regularly work. The posting shall include the title, wage range, and sufficient information regarding requirements and duties to adequately describe the vacancy. The vacancy shall remain posted for seven (7) calendar days which shall be spread between two (2) workweeks.

  • Shift Assignment Should the University elect to establish a shift on any other schedule than the regular day shift (Monday through Friday) or to assign employees to work on any such shift, the employee(s) with the most seniority in the classification affected or to be assigned on such shift shall have preference in moving to such shift. If an insufficient number of employees in the classification elect to move to such shift, then the employee(s) with the least seniority in the classification shall be assigned to such shift. If positions or shifts are reduced or eliminated or movement of personnel to other shifts is required, then the seniority of the affected employee will prevail in the selection of shift, provided the affected employee can do the required work. Such shift preference is only applicable within the employee's classification.

  • Room Assignments A. The University draws students from many states, nations, races and religions. It will be the responsibility of each resident to respect the rights of all residents in university residence halls. Admission to Texas A&M University – Texarkana and any of its sponsored programs is open to qualified individuals regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability. Room and roommate assignments are made without regard to race, color, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.

  • Relief Assignments 3.1 All possible regular relief assignments with five days work per week and two consecutive rest days (subject to Rule 2) shall be established to perform necessary relief work or to perform relief work on certain days and such types of other work on other days as may be assigned under this Agreement.

  • Teacher Assignments 6.10.1 Non-probationary teachers will be given the opportunity to indicate in writing their preference as to subject and grade assignment for the next school year. A teacher who desires a change of assignment within a school shall submit a Preference Form to the School Director. The preference will be considered when making assignments.

  • Room Assignment The Landlord will assign rooms in accordance with the current assignment practice set by Residence Services. The Landlord reserves the right to transfer or move Tenants when deemed necessary. Tenants failing to arrive within 48 hours of the specified move-in date, without informing Residence Services of the delay, will lose their room assignment.

  • Housing Assignments The University assigns Licensee to a bed space and does not guarantee specific room types, buildings, communities, or roommates. The University shall have the right to reassign the Licensee to a different bed space without the Licensee’s consent prior to or during the term of the Agreement.

  • Training Assignments The Supervisor or designee may establish written training assignments to enable an employee to gain the additional experience and training required for the job for a period of time not to exceed two years. At the completion of the training assignment, the employee’s pay will be set no less than the entry rate of pay for the occupational pay band.
