Health Care Benefit Program. The City shall offer medical, dental, and vision care benefits to full-time career and part- time career employees. (1) Part-time career employees who have waived coverage and subsequently have a temporary FTE increase shall not be eligible to enroll in health care benefits unless that temporary FTE increase is anticipated, documented in a Personnel Action Form, and exceeds six (6) full calendar months. (2) Full-time career and part-time career employees who have waived coverage have the option of enrolling in health care benefits during the open enrollment period, for coverage effective January 1st of each year or within 30 days of a qualifying event. (3) Part-time exempt employees shall not be eligible for health care benefits.

Health Care Benefit Program. 13.1 The Employer shall pay each month into the following employee health care benefit plans, on account of each member of the bargaining unit who was compensated for eighty (80) hours or more in the preceding month. The employees shall, by payroll deduction, pay a monthly contribution as set forth in subsection 13.2 below. 13.1.1 Effective January 1, 2020, Washington Teamsters Welfare Trust Health and Welfare Plan A, contribution rate $1,448.00 per month. 13.1.2 Effective January 1, 2020, Dental Plan A, contribution rate $120.50 per month. 13.1.3 Effective January 1, 2020, Vision Plan EXT, contribution rate $17.10 per month. 13.1.4 Effective January 1, 2020, and through the tenn of this Agreement, the Employer agrees to pay $175.00 per month per bargaining unit member for the Teamsters Retiree Welfare Trust Plus XL plan. 13.2 The Union agrees during the life of this Agreement, that it will not request any additional benefits for any of the above-listed employee benefit plans, and the Employer agrees that during the life of this Agreement, it will pay any increase in contribution rates as required by the Trustees of the employee benefit trusts to maintain these benefits; provided however, the Employer shall not be responsible for paying any portion of any mid-year increases or similar nonscheduled increases in contribution rates during the year in which such increases are imposed; and provided further, that effective January 1, 2006, each bargaining unit member shall pay through payroll a total of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per month toward the premiums for the health care benefit plans identified in this Article. Effective January 1, 2007, in addition to the above-referenced monthly payroll deduction, members shall pay through such payroll deduction ten percent (10%) of all premium increases effective on or after January 1, 2007, for these plans. 13.3 The Employer agrees to provide the employee with a $25,000 group life insurance policy at no expense to the employee.
