HOURS OF SERVICE AND WORK WEEK. (a) Eight hours of service will constitute a day's work. All employees coming under the provisions of this agreement, except as otherwise provided in this schedule of rules, or as may hereafter be legally established between the Railway Company and employees, shall be paid on the hourly basis.

HOURS OF SERVICE AND WORK WEEK. 1. Eight (8) consecutive hours, excluding meal period, will constitute a day's work. The typical work week shall be forty (40) hours, consisting of five (5) days of eight (8) hours each, with two (2) consecutive days off in each seven (7); so far as practicable the days off shall be Saturday and Sunday. A non-paid meal period shall not be construed to break the continuity of the eight (8) hour period. All employees coming under the provisions of this Agreement, except as otherwise provided in this schedule or the Labor Agreement, or as may hereafter be legally established between the Company and the employees, shall be paid on the hourly basis.   • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME (Subject to implementation instructions, the following clauses will appear in all collective agreements replacing any provision related to the Work Week and Work Day, Rest Periods, Overtime Definitions, Overtime/Callback Accumulation, Missed Meal Breaks, Meal Allowance, Time Off Between Shifts, and Change of Schedule that existed in the Hospital’s expiring collective agreement:)

  • Hours Worked For the purpose of computing the number of hours worked, all time during which an employee is in paid status shall be construed as hours worked.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND WORKING CONDITIONS 16.01 The following paragraph is intended to define the normal hours of work and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day, or per week, or of days of work per week.

  • Work Week and Work Day (a) (Applicable to full-time employees only) The normal or standard work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.
