Rest Days. 6.1 Employees will be assigned two rest days in each seven-day period, subject to the following:
(a) the work week may be staggered in accordance with the Corporation's operation requirements;
(b) in the instances of change in days of service, four working days' advance notice will be given to the assigned employees whose positions are affected. The Local Chairperson will be supplied with a copy of any notice.
6.2 The rest days shall be consecutive as far as is possible consistent with the establishment of regular relief assignments and the avoidance of working an employee on an assigned rest day. Preference shall be given to Saturday and Sunday, then to Friday and Saturday, then to Sunday and Monday. In any dispute as to the necessity of departing from the pattern of two consecutive rest days, or for granting rest days other than Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, it shall be incumbent on the Corporation to show that such departure is necessary to meet operational requirements and that otherwise additional relief service or working an employee on an assigned rest day would be involved.
6.3 On positions where it is not reasonably practicable to provide regular relief each week, the rest day or days for which relief is not provided may be accumulated and granted at a later date in accordance with understandings to be worked out between the designated National or Regional Representative of the Union and the proper officer of the Corporation.
6.4 In the event that a situation arises which makes it impracticable to assign consecutive rest days to all employees at a particular point the following procedure shall be followed:
(a) Full-time regular relief positions shall be established pursuant to Article 4.9;
(b) Possible use of rest days other than Saturday, Sunday or Monday, where these may be required under this Agreement, to be explored by the parties;
(c) Accumulation of rest days under Article 6.3 shall be considered;
(d) Other suitable or practicable plans which may be suggested by either of the parties shall be considered and efforts made to come to an agreement thereon;
(e) If the foregoing does not solve the problem, then some of the relief or extra employees may be given non-consecutive rest days;
(f) If after all the foregoing has been done, there still remains service which can only be performed by requiring employees to work in excess of five days per week, the number of regular assignments necessary to avoid this may be made with two non-consecu...
Rest Days. 6.1 Employees will be assigned two consecutive rest days in each seven-day period except where unforeseen operational requirements do not allow.
Rest Days. Rest days shall be consecutive as far as possible, consistent with the establishment of regular relief assignments. Preference shall be given to Saturday and Sunday and then to Sunday and Monday. Where non-consecutive rest days are assigned, it shall be incumbent upon Management to show that such departure is necessary to meet operational requirements.
Rest Days. (1) Unless otherwise agreed and/or subject to operational requirements, each employee will be allowed two whole consecutive rest days off in each week.
(2) Provided that in lieu of two whole days off in each week, an employee may be allowed in each fortnightly period either one day off in one week and three consecutive days off in the other week or four consecutive days off.
(3) Provided further that two consecutive days off, one at the end of one week and one at the beginning of the following week may be counted as meeting the requirements of this clause.
Rest Days. 8.01 Employees shall be assigned two rest days during each calendar week. Such rest days shall be consecutive as far as possible and shall not be split except where it is necessary to meet the Company's operational requirements and that otherwise working an employee at overtime rates would be involved.
8.02 Except in the application of Article 6.06, employees, if required to work on regularly assigned rest day, who are not provided with a minimum of 24 hours notice, will be paid a three hour minimum at the rate of time and one half, for which three hours work may be required, and shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half on the actual minute basis for all time in excess of three hours. All hours worked under this provision and paid for at time and one-half will not be included in the calculation of hours worked in excess of the standard hours of work in the applicable averaging period. Subject to the maximum allowed bank time accumulation outlined in Article 7.08, an employee may choose to bank overtime earned under this provision, similar to the current practice with respect to overtime earned on a General Holiday. (This does not apply when employees are On Call)
Rest Days. 7.1. A Correctional Health Services employee engaged in shift work is to have two whole consecutive days off between midnight and midnight, in each seven day period.
7.2. An attempt is to be made to average out the number of weekends worked with the number of weekends not worked during the cycle of the roster.
Rest Days. 7.1 Employees shall be granted two rest days in each calendar week which will begin on Sunday and end the following Saturday. Such rest days shall be consecutive unless otherwise required to meet the demands of the service.
7.2 When employees perform work on scheduled rest days, such employees will be credited with hours actually worked under the averaging provisions contained in Article 6, with a minimum of 3 hours for which 3 hours' service may be required; the 3-hour minimum will also apply when employees are paid on a current basis under the provisions of sub- paragraph 6.6 (e).
7.3 At locations where 5 employees or less are employed, rest days may be staggered to meet the demands of the service with the proviso that at locations where only two or three employees are employed, such employees may not be granted the same rest days.
Rest Days. When substation employees are sent out of headquarters to work they are to receive straight time pay for rest days arranged by Utility at the rate of 8 hours in each 24 hours.
Rest Days. 11.1 Rest days of the desk assignments, including the Utility and Lunch Relief positions, are subject to change in accordance with the requirements of the service and not less than 72 hours notice shall be given to the employees affected.
11.2 If, owing to such change in rest days off duty, an employee is required by the Company to work more than 5 days per week, the employee will be paid overtime at the rate of time and one-half for such days.
11.3 The rest days shall be consecutive as far as is possible, consistent with the establishment of regular relief assignments and the avoidance of working an employee on an assigned rest day. Preference shall be given to Saturday and Sunday and then to Sunday and Monday.
11.4 In any dispute as to the necessity of departing from the pattern of 2 consecutive rest days or for granting rest days other than Saturday and Sunday or Sunday and Monday, it shall be incumbent on the Company to show that such departure is necessary to meet operational requirements and that otherwise additional relief service or working an employee on an assigned rest day would be involved.
11.5 Unassigned RTCs not working a vacancy shall be provided with a guaranteed assigned rest day. The determination of this day will be through the analysis of ad-hoc book offs. Guaranteed assigned day(s) off will be awarded through the pre-bid system subject to staffing numbers and qualifications of the RTCs. Once a Guaranteed Assigned Rest Day has been scheduled, it will not be changed. While every effort will be made to award an RTC his or her second day off in conjunction with his or her Guaranteed Assigned Day Off, the Company may schedule non- consecutive rest days. The non-guaranteed rest day may be moved to meet the needs of the business. When moving the non-guaranteed day off, at a minimum, notice must be provided to the employee on the preceding working day either during the employee’s Calling Window if not working on that day, or if working, prior to the end of their shift. The Company will provide as much notice as possible when moving the non-guaranteed day off. The Company may request that an RTC work his or her Assigned Day Off. The RTC shall not be penalized should he or she elect not to work on his or her day off. If the employee accepts this offer of work, he or she shall be paid at overtime rates. This arrangement will be implemented based on local requirements and provided sufficient staffing levels are available.
Rest Days. 7.1 Unless otherwise provided, a workweek of forty (40) hours consisting of five (5) days of eight (8) hours and/or four (4) days of ten (10) hours will be established.
7.2 Except as otherwise provided, employees shall be assigned two rest days in each seven. The rest days shall be consecutive as far as is possible consistent with the establishment of regular relief assignments, and the avoidance of working an employee on an assigned rest day. Preference shall be given to Saturday and Sunday and then to Sunday and Monday. The work weeks may be staggered in accordance with the Company’s operational requirements.
7.3 In any dispute as to the necessity of departing from the pattern of two consecutive rest days or for granting rest days other than Saturday and Sunday or Sunday and Monday to employees covered by Clause 7.2, it shall be incumbent on the Company to show that such departure is necessary to meet operational requirements and that otherwise additional relief or working an employee on an assigned rest day would be involved.
7.4 On positions where it is not reasonably practicable to provide regular relief each week, the rest day or days for which relief is not provided may be accumulated and granted at a later date. Such accumulation shall not exceed five (5) days and rest days so accumulated shall be allowed consecutively when five (5) days have been accumulated. However, the accumulation of a greater number of rest days and their allowance at longer intervals may be arranged by mutual agreement between the officers of the Company and the General Chairman and/or Designate.
7.5 In the event that a situation arises which makes it impracticable to assign consecutive rest days to all employees on a particular territory the following procedures shall be observed:
(a) All possible regular relief positions shall be established pursuant to Clauses 7.6,
